Character Spot Pics

I just figured I'd snap some photos of the newly opened Character Spot. It's hard to explain to folks why it's become so popular, so they can see for themselves. It's blatantly showing the characters to all the folks walking toward Soarin.

Here's a glance from the breezway looking toward Fountainview (RIP).

And panning over...

You'll have to excuse the color and lack of characters, I took the photos at night after it was closed. It closes at 5:30.

And then around to the door to the potties by Fountainview, where we can glimpse the queue area..

That used to be the counter for Pasta Piazza. Anywho, past the potties and into the back hallway. The big images of Disney technology history are gone. The whole hall is now painted and carpeted. This is where the character meets end and you can re-enter the breezeway.

I saw Timon, Rafiki and Baloo in the open part of the hall today. Here's a look at one of the backdrops...

And here's the wall looking out into the breezeway.

Essentially anyone going toward Soarin, Seas, or Imagination passes this big glass wall with the characters mere feet beyond it. Thus the line gets LONG, and ironicly starts to block the view.

Hope you enjoyed :)

Hey, these are great pictures and make the Character Spot look much more inviting than before. Just one question though, where are the Egyptian statues? :ROFLOL:

Hmmm... that's wise crowd control, snagging folks off the Soarin' stampede.

Hope those technology history pics show up elsewhere, though.

The building wasn't being used for anything constructive, it adds something else for kids at Epcot, and gets people out of the queues for things that I actually want to see. Major plusses all around.

I think its great that you can see this area from the outside. This looks much nicer that how it was previously.
Thanks for the great pictures!
