Character Questions

I was last there last January during the coldest week ever in Florida.:dazzle:

My daughter has questions though and I like to dispel a lot of the walkaround character myths that people have. (You know, the ones about how cruelly the characters' friends are treated.)

Anyway, Ariel was out and seeing people in her Grotto that week. Do they have some sort of space heater for her in 20 degree weather? Or maybe the cruelty isn't a myth?

Disney characters can handle extremes of temperature. 20s in the winter, 90s in the summer.

The "face" character costumes vary from winter to summer... in winter they will have warmer costumes and will add things like capes and shawls (or long sleeves) as needed... also depending on the weather they will change how long some characters are allowed to be out at a time. Since FL is fairly warm most of the time it isn't as big a deal as it is in say Disneyland Paris where the winter is VERY cold... there they have much warmer attire if it is really cold. So while they won't have something like heaters out in the park... they do things to make it more bearable. Here is an example of Aurora's Heavy Winter Dress from DLP:
