Character meals

I've never done one, and am considering doing one on my upcoming trip. Can anyone give me a quick rundown of a few of the different ones, prices, characters generally found at each one, and whether or not I'll feel completely out of place due to my age (23) and not having a child with me? Thanks in advance.

Yes, check that site out.

I, too, went to my first character breakfast on our most recent trip about 9 days ago at Chef Mickey's. I am 21 and my sis is 19, and parents are 50ish. We had a blast!! I was not out of place one bit. I even celebrated my 21st bday there with a large goofy looking hat. Chip fed me a birthday muffin and wiped icing on my nose!! Excellent food and really good fun. And a lot of other people my age and older, and even older couples w/o kids!!

I mean, you gotta eat, so you might as well go to a character meal!

We have been to several character meals. My kids loved all of them. One of my favorites is no longer available, Hollywood and Vine, but any of the choices should make anyone happy. When we went to our first meal at Crystal Palace, There was a couple that looked to be in there sixties all alone. That is one of the magical things about WDW, nobody is out of place.

Our meals:
Crystal Palace
The Princess Breakfast at Norway
Hollywood and Vine
Garden Grill

Hi there!! I know about being an adult and going to character meals, as I do it alot!!! I have been to most of the ones that are on pproperty. My absolute favorite for sheer ambiance is Cinderella's Castle. That was is truly amazing but very tough to get. Call Dining as soon as possible to make a PS for this one. Id suggest a Priority Seating ( Kinda like a reservation) for any of the character meals to make sure you get in.
Another good one in the Magic Kingdom is the Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh & Friends. It is a lovely place, if a touch loud because of all the kids. The food is consistently aabove average for Disney buffets. There is also an omlette station at this one which isnt available at all of the character breakfast.
I Just did the Princess Storybook one in Norway on my last trip. I also enjoyed that one, although the waffles were a touch hard, everything else was good.
Donald's Prehistoric Breakfast is really cool if you are a fan of the Duck. He is tougher to find than most characters.
I have heard great things about Chef Mickey's but havent gotten to that one myself as of yet.
Do you have any particular characters that you like? Post them and Ill see if I can hunt them down for you. I can tell you though I never feel out of place anywhere in Disney!! You will have an absolutel blast regardless of which meal you choose!! Belle

None in particular. My mother is mailing my old autograph book from 1995 to me because I'm a huge nerd and want more autographs, which is my main reason for wanting to do a character meal. There aren't many in the book as of yet (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Eyeore, Fairy Godmother). I would like at least a couple of face characters just so I can at least talk to one of them. But, honestly, any characters are fine.

Does that cute Peter Pan ever do meals? :animwink:

Hey NICHOLAS!

One of the BEST places to fill that autograph book up quickly is at MGM. They have this "Character Cavalcade" or something out in the large open area in front of "THE HAT" a few times a day. It's very spread out and easy to get around!

There are SOOOOOOO many characters out there (lots of "rare"ones too!) that you can easily get up to 20 autographs each time they do it. My niece and nephew filled the book with autographs and photos by doing this 2 times while we were there! Check the park guide for times!

It's kind of a like a "casting call" and the characters seemd to group by the movie they were from, so it made it easy to find specific ones.

HAVE FUN!

I have seen Peter at only one of the character meals, and that was at Cinderella's Castle. That was only one time though and I have eaten there several times. I would suggest, for face type characters either Cinderella's Castle, Storybook Princess in Norway, Breakfast at 1900 Park Fair in the Grand Floridian or the Princess dinner in 1900 Park Fair. All of these meals are SUPER popular so I would tell you to call as soon as possible. The Princess meals require a $10.00 deposit on a credit card to hold the PS. the number for dining is 1-407 WDW-DINE. Post back and let me know which meal you were able to get!!! And when you come back Id love to see some pictures!! Belle

Well, I guess my friends from down there got sick of me asking questions about which to do. I just got an email from one saying "I just made your reservations for Park Fair. 10am"

So, I guess my decision was made for me. LOL
