Character meals out of pocket?

So we did not get the dining plan (staying off site) and would REALLY love to take our boys to Chef Mickeys. It's all my 7 year old can talk about, about his previous Disney trip. However, we have to pay out of pocket.

From what I can find online, it looks like it should cost us about $75 before tip, but that just doesn't sound right. I was expecting over $100??

2 adults and 2 kids, the 2 year old will eat off me/eat free.

Sounds about right for 5 of us to dine at Crystal palace in June it was around $130-$140.

Is it two kids plus the two year old or 2 kids including the two year old? If it's two kids and a two year old I would think it would be a little higher.

We pay out of pocket too as my son has food issues so the dining plan does not work well for us. My son too loves Chef Mickey's always a favorite of ours. He loves to sit and just watch the monorail go by. Enjoy!

I just checked Disney.com, says prices are $36-$59.99, for dinner (it wasn't specified for adult or child). Breakfast is listed as $15.00-$35.99. I mean no disrespect, but I'd ask the CM as you are lead to your table, about your 2 yr old. On several occassions, I have witnessed upset parents who were charged for their little ones.

The menu prices from Aug 2011 sound about right. We dined there August 16th last year (2 adults, 1 child, 1 2-year old). While we were on DxDP, I had to scour my bill at this meal b/c we had a fancy cake added on and I needed to play around with the tip. In any event, I recall the meal after taxes being around $96 for the 4 of us. Obviously, my younger one was free.

Go to the menus on this site, and open the newest one. At the top of the newest menu will be listed the price. I just did this and this is the only place I could find the info. So this is WITH tax the price Price (inc Tax): Adult $35.14 Child $19.16 for Chef Mickey's Breakfast.

Do you know that of you call ahead Disney will make something special for your son. They never exclude someone for a food allergy. Even for someone who is a vegetarian or has kosher needs. Actually if you book your dining reservations or if you have a vacation specialist book them online, it asks if you have any special request or allergies. I hope this helped! I hate for you to be paying a lot out of pocket when the dining plan saves you so much money!

I'd figure $160 for breakfast, $200 for dinner. Maybe a little less since you aren't 3 adults, 1 kid.

But those are my standard numbers for restaurant meals, including tax and tip. I usually have a little left over to buy water and the occasional churro.

The 2yo doesn't have to pay.

The link you showed me says "range" as does the image in the post above. I gave you exact price with tax according to the latest menu on wdwmagic. Its possible it has gone up but this is the latest menu with exact prices I could find.

Thanks Disneyfreak02, I have found the issue not to be too bad, usually because all he wants is a plate of french fries, honest to God that's all he wants. And because it's so easy they are more than happy to give him one, sometimes they give him a ton, we were at the Beach Club buffet for dinner one night and they sent out this plate to him that even made him laugh. Chef came out to make sure he enjoyed them,it was wonderful.

Are you going soon? Cause the prices will change. We're going in September, and we are eating at Crystal Palace and Park Fare for breakfast for around $70 sans tip with 2 adults, 2 kids and a toddler. The dining people will give the exact price if asked.

Yes! We're going Sept 2nd (arriving Sept 1, but Chef Mickeys is the next morning)!

Maybe April 2011 was when it was going into peak season, where as ours is off season. You have the exact same amount of people as me, 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 toddler (2) and found the same price! I was starting to think I was crazy....hahaha!

Prices range based on what season it is. Low seaon is obviously the lowest and then peak season has peak season pricing. Sounds like you are going during the "slow" season though.

I strongly suggest the dining plan even with food issues. If you have a dietary restriction the chef will come out and accommodate your little one. I see this happen just about every meal. They do a great job with this, even at buffets.
