Character Meals for Boys

The Pirate Adventure launches out of 3 different places...

POR--searching for Captain John Lafeets treasure (I know I must have spelled it wrong)

CBR--Captain Jack Sparrow

GF--Legend of Gaspirella

I was told that all three are almost the same except for the Captains in charge. The main web site has the info on it or you can call 1407-wdw-play to find out more info. It is $31.95 but I think it is well worth it. Something unique, right? This will be the first time I am putting my son in it. I have told him about it and he is really excited and talks about it all of the time.

A hero character meal would be cool. Like the bibbity bobbity boutique, the boys can maybe do a pirate lesson...how to act, dress like a pirate or even a hero makeover. I know BBB has a "dude" session but I think all they do is hair. Something else for boys would be cool. I think it is a really great untapped market.

I think it is a great idea. H is 5 now and would love it I think. We will book one for sure for him Thanks He wants to go to a Princess breakfast not for him but for his mommy to have fun. He thinks of everyone... But we gotta convince them to do something for the boys. Thats what I said it is a market waiting to be had out there. We started carriyng boys costumes in my store, Prince, Pirates, etc and the moms are buying them saying there is nothing out there for their boys. All girly girl. Our boys mean everything to us,as well as a girl means to her family so Disney lets get it going...PLEASE...

Donald's Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House in Animal Kingdom seemed very boy centered the last time I was there. I think young boys enjoy Chef Mickey's quite nicely too. But, I agree the character meals seem more geared toward young girls at WDW.

At Disneyland, as others have mentioned, there are lots of Peter Pan and Brother Bear characters out at the Storyteller's Cafe (a fabulous restaurant!) in the Grand Californian. Also, Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel was another good character meal option for young boys.

At Disneyland Paris, I think it's interesting they have a big character meal in Fantasyland advertised for "princes and princesses". It would be good to see that at WDW too. Perhaps at 1900 Park Faire where Prince Charming is present.

Thank you jennc2001... I Have been in the children business for 23 years.. we design, build and handpaint childrens furnishings and playthings. Mostly girls until we had a grandson 5 years ago and now a new 2 month old grandson. So I have had to think outta the box and do more for the boys. I love them so much and just wish there were more for them along that lines. His eyes lit up so big when he saw all the Power Rangers. Loved them. But the best is when we stumbled upon Buzz behind the building. My grandson was the only one in line and when he came out you would have thought it was Santa.... Buzz came over and got his hand and led him to his ship and did stances with him. It was priceless. Woody as well, I have never seen a bigger hug. So you cannot tell me that little boys that age wouldn't think they were something special as well. What was sad was when we went to meet the Incredibles. he stood in line forever. Had his Incredibles t-shirt on only boy with one on,,, and when he got up there they left. talk about heart broken.. So you see If they could have a meal with any or some of these how these little boys would feel....

I see the character meals like Chef Mickey's, Ohana and Garden Grill geared for everyone. I'm sure boys go to Cinderella's Royal Table, Akerhus and 1900 Park Fare Dinner, but they are still more themed and geared for the girls to attend. I would still like the Hero's Breakfast with Captain Jack, Hercules, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Shang etc.

And I still think they should bring back the villains meal on nights of Mickey's Not So Scary.

Aw man! I wish I had got to experience that - it would have been really cool! I was thinking, how about a character breakfast at the Wilderness Lodge (yes, I know I"m a fan) at the Whispering Canyon with the characters from Brother Bear and/or Pocahontas. I think that would be a great addition and start filling the need for boy geared character meals.

Caribbean Beach Resort would be a perfect fit for a Neverland Character Breakfast - do they have a table service there?

A Pixar themed breakfast(TS, Bug's Life, Monsters Inc, Cars) would be good, Power Rangers would be super cool, villains and pirates would be cool..Peter Pan not so much.

At around 8 years old my stepson laid eyes upon Peter Pan in the park and the look on his face said it all....Peter Pan face to face is not cool...not cool at all and I will leave it at that...sorry to any 'friends' of Peter here.

Well since I started all this discussion.. maybe it will get something going..Anywhere well take anyplace,,, Maybe have 2 at different places different characters. I think for sure the Rangers, the villians.... Isee where many families go more than once a year and do the same old thing. Wouldn't it be nice like when they do a new ride etc, that they do a new Character meal. Really what I think I want to say is that yes, there is CRT,Akerhus,1900. But there is only one boy character to relate to. Why I bet there are plenty of girls who would go to the boys themed ones and love it. You know there is the Pink Ranger, Jesse, how about the 7 dwarfs, you never see all seven at a time and the list goes on. Should I stick a poll on this and maybe just maybe they will see it, consider it, DO IT???????

I think having quality time with characters for boys is a little different than for girls.

I mean isn't sharing a dessert with Alladin, Gaston, Hercules, Tarzan, and Peter Pan just a little weird.

I agree. My DS is now 6 and could care less where he eats or with whom. Once little boys are not toddlers, they just want to RIDE the RIDES:ROFLOL:
Your could also have the same argument about the bibbdi bobbidi boutique, my DS is just as tickled having his face painted.

I've always said they should have a "hero's" character meal or something like that for the boys (but I bet it would be popular with the girls too)! I would like to see a meal that included Peter Pan, Robin Hood, Alladin, even Mushu from Mulan (the dragon), etc. There's so many great characters to pick from!

I also like the idea of a "Pixar" themed meal as well. What child wouldn't enjoy Toy Story, Monster inc., Bug's Life characters etc.!?! That one seems like a no brainer to me! But what do I know!?!

Maybe one day we'll see something a little different...

What about a Woody, Buzz, Jesse themed restaurant near Midway? I know, some feel Toy Story is taking over but it sells. Having Jesses in there would appeal to the girls, too. Or, in Pixar Place doing the completely themed Pixar meal. It could, of course, be subject to change but having all Pixar characters...Mike, Sully, Boo, Woody, Jesse, Bullseye, Buzz, Remy, Nemo, Flix...you get it. I think it could turn out to be the "Chef Mickey's" of DHS. I think DHS is lacking in some TS restaurants and this would fill that void, too.:)

BTW, I am 32 and still love to see the characters. :)

If I remember right, Wilderness Lodge used to have a character meal with Pocahontas, John Smith, Meeko and Gov. Ratcliffe.

I am so glad to see others agree. I had said in the beginning that DHS needed something...In California the POTC ride has a restuarant that is inside the ride and overlooks the battle... Would't this be a fantastic place for a Pirate themed meal. Girls would love this as well. They make a Princess Pirate dress costume that is so cute.. Come on Disney.. Lets get us a couple of new Character Meals, something new and excitig for all. Bugs Life would be great as well, how about big ant hills and grass decor etc So much fun. While we enjoyed the others, their decor does not represent the themes. Just looks like an eating place. I guess I am just the Dramatic type... like everything related and colorful..

There's lots of great ideas here! I've thought of this one before too. It could be called "Disney's Animal Friends" (leave it open to endless possibilities) and include characters like Baloo, Meeko, Terk, Brother Bear, etc. (there's lots of popular Disney animals). Maybe make it a lunch buffet/family style in AK b/c we already have the character breakfast (and we all know AK still needs more TS choice)!
