IME, DL's is more common sense based. If you fit and you look right, they'll generally approve you.
WDW is very by the book in that regard.

It just sucks that i've auditioned like three times, and I am still in the 'character pool'. I'm dying to get into the department, and it can't hurrry fast enough.
I believe that they measured me at 5'11, which I am guessing is very common. MKT, how did your friend cheat the system, and get measured at 5'10?
I was in the pool for about 3 weeks myself... as for how he did it, I'm not quite sure... I believe he wore extra baggy pants and squated 2 inches, or pulled in a favor from his boyfriend in management
So each time, you've gone the whole 6 months without getting a call?

Yup Yup..This time around, I took another role..so maybe, just maybe that would give me a better chance of getting called..

Tell me about it..I just think that it's retarted that all the CP's get first priority, and then they try to give the other positions to full time/casual. CP's are only there for a couple of months, and then they are gone, and the process cycles all over again. I have been wanting that position for ever, and I have faith of getting it this time around,but it just seems like it may never happen.
So the priority order is CP, regular CM, then new hire?

they got sick of 5'5ers like me getting disapproved in all those and messing up their scheduling for the day!
sometimes you just get lucky, and if they like you enough, they'll cheat it for ya. I got lucky.
think of it from a business standpoint though. Who is cheaper? A FT who gets paid peanuts, or a CP who only gets paid peanut shells?

but there's a lot of cool stuff that you guys get to do that we don't, so it's really just a tradeoff... and honestly, I have major respect for anyone who can handle your role, I truly don't think I could ever do it!
