Character Breakfasts - Which One

We just got back from our first trip to the world and we had Breakfast at Ohana, Hollywood & Vine, Tusker House and Akershus. Tusker house was our favorite because there was a large variety of food on the buffet. Akershus was great for the princess's but there wasn't much of a food selection. Hollywood & Vine was great with charcter interaction and entertainment. Ohana was my least favorite.

We literally just got home a couple of hours ago...so here are my opinions on the ones we just did (sadly, I had to cancel my 'Ohana this morning b/c there just wasn't enough time).

1) Crystal Palace (B) - we really liked this. The food was pretty good, the character interaction was excellent, and the CMs were phenomenal (I'll get into this more when I post my trip report)

2) 1900 Park Fare (B) - This was our fave. The food, while still buffet fare was the best (loved the salmon and the lobster eggs benedict), the service was very good, and most of the characters were super with the kids. The Mad Hatter was a bit awkward, but Alice, Mary Poppins, Tigger, and Pooh (best Pooh experience of the trip) rocked.

3) Tusker House (B) - I would not do this one again. It didn't help that we were really rushing to get there due to late bus service, but the food was very average and the character experiences were the worst of our trip. They weren't bad, just very generic and a bit rushed.

We also did Akershus for lunch, CRT for lunch, and Chef Mickey's for dinner. I can't speak for the breakfasts at these places from the food standpoint, but as for the character aspects- we'd do CRT and Akershus again, but we'll probably skip Chef Mickey's on future trips.

I've only experienced Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. It was OK but nothing special. I want to try something different next time. Cinderellas Royal Table sounds promising especially if there are women in your group.

As a PP has stated, your choices will depend upon the people in your party and which characters you want to see. Every visit we make ADR's for at least 3 character breakfasts. Our favorites include Ohana, Akershus and of course Chef Mickey's. If you are thinking about a dinner, I'd highly recommend Cinderella's Happily Ever After dinner at the Grand Floridian. It was by far the best dinner buffet we have ever been to. There was a huge variety of food of all different types and nationalities. The pallela was amazing. In addition, Cinderella, Prince Charming, step mother and step sisters were all in attendance. During the dinner Prince Charming and Cinderella do a waltz and they select kids to dance with them. Prince Charming selected my DD (16 months at the time) to dance and she had the best time. She also got to dance with Cinderella.

We've also done Donald's at AK, also very good. Crystal Palace is pretty good as well. Didn't do the Hollywood & Vine breakfast this year but did the lunch there and it was also very good. Our DD loved Handy Manny. I've also heard that Special Agent OSO may soon be there. Hopefully, that will be the case when we go next August.

As with all ADR's, try to choose them far enough in advance and book them on the first day you're allowed to, 180 days prior to your visit.

Good luck and bon appetit.

:wave:OMG I love the Cinderalla Castle Breakfast but kinda better than that is Norway Pavillion at Epcot. You will want to get the earliest one though the princess' come right up to the table each and every one of them it is wonderful. I did this 2 times and both times I was blown away. They do the pictures with Belle before they seat you and it's included with your breakfast ADR. I say try this one. They usually always have Snow White, Belle, Ariel, One time Mulan was there and also Cinderella...you will love the fruit, bagel buffet. They serve cheesy potato caserole, eggs and bacon/or sausage.
Check them out...
Enjoy:sohappy:

Have to say that Chef Mickey is best for food for our money. As for the characters it all depends on what you want. Best overall Character breakfast for me will always be Crystal Palace. Pooh and Friends!!
Best for Princesses is Cinderella's Royal Table. Best out of MK is Donalds (outside of Chef Mickey) in AK. Grand Floridian is too much pomp and circumstance for us so not interested. Ohana for Character Breakfast we didnt like too much but for the dinner it is superb. Mickey's Backyard BBQ is alot of fun for the kids as well. Again its all down to preference. Have a great time!

We truly love Cape May. Great food, not very loud, and great character interaction. Heres some pics from last week.

If you want to see princesses, than I would go to Akershus. The tables are not one on top the other as a Cindy's and you get more time with the ladies.
