Character Autographs

So, I was trying to come up with a good keepsake that I could have the characters autograph on my trip. I was thinking of bringing a poster and getting the characters to sign it. What have you done in the past besides the regular autograph books? I want something that I can frame and put in my classroom when I start teaching. I can't wait to hear what you have done!

I am taking my wedding guestbook on my honeymoon & having the characters sign the pages that I have left, since our Disney "themed" wedding is in Pittsburgh and not Disney. :)

If you want to bring a poster, be sure to bring something to mount it on, and BRING SHARPIES! Pens will NOT work. I've seen people with posters and they mount it with clipboards which is a great idea.

Its not a poster for the wall but if you have those little disney story books you could get them to autograph their own book? Would be lovely when the kids open it and see that cinderella has signed her own book.

I once saw a family that bought a dated t-shirt, and had all the characters sign it, as well as CMs that made their trip special. They did this every trip, and then when they got home they had it framed and hung it on the wall.

Thanks for the info about the clipboard! I didn't think of that! I like the t-shirt idea also! Everyone has such great ideas on here!

There's a banner kit you can buy that comes with a fabric (light canvas) banner and a round tool that the banner goes in so the characters can sign it (tool has a hard backing so they can sign on the soft material). It comes with some markers and a carry case too - we took one several trips ago and went on a serious character hunt - we got so many autographs and now we've added tons of pins to the banner and it hangs in my daughters room - we have so much fun looking at it and remembering our past vacations :)
Many face characters commented that they thought it was great and even others motioned about it (Mickey gave the thumbs up!). We loved it and highly recommend it for making an awesome keepsake!! Although I would suggest bringing some of your own markers for quality and color variety (it came with only 3 markers that were "no name" so I was afraid to bring them and risk them drying out).

Not sure if I can post the website selling them, so I'm doing this in a separate reply in case it needs to be removed......The kit was called Autographs on the Go and the website is autographsonthego.com

But hope this is okay - it is a really great autograph item!

We bought my son a white baseball cap and a Sharpie. Buzz Lightyear gave him a thumbs-up, and so did Figment. Several other guests and CMs commented on what a good idea it was,

On one of our trips, we purchased Disney character post cards & had the appropriate characters sign them. For example, we purchased a card featuring all the the Disney Princesses & they all signed it.

In certain gift shops (The Emporium and The Judge's Tent at Mk and Mouse Gear at Epcot for example) they sell place mats for $3.95 that have either the Princesses or Mickey Mouse and Friends on them. They are easily autographed with a black Sharpie and frame very well. I have also found a baseball in a few Disney Stores (not in the parks but in the shopping malls) that have the Princesses on them and are easily autographed. Also check the local Walgreens drug stores for a 3-D frisbee of 6 Princesses. if I think of anything else I will let you know. Have fun!!!!

We were there last week and we got a Asian fan for our DD for Mulan to sign. She signed it and also signed it for Mushu as well. We got the idea from one our friends who had done this before.

We bought several old Chip 'n' Dale comic books off of eBay and had the munks sign the covers with a Sharpie. They absolutely loved signing, drawing, and decorating the covers of these comic books. We did the same thing with an ancient Alice in Wonderland comic book, and again, the characters got a big kick out of signing (and reading) the comic book.
