Hey folks. You know that one thing you really don't like about parks or Disney content?

It is almost certain that Chapek wasn't fired for that one thing.

So, Iger coming back isn't going to 'fix' that one thing.

This applies to: Genie+, Park Reservations, reduced live entertainment, slow construction, any sort of perceived agenda in Disney content, that executive you irrationally hate who was only doing what they were told or said that mildly off-putting thing once, that contentious retheme, the lighting in New Fantasyland being too dark at night, IPs where they don't belong, old Disney TV content that still hasn't made it to D+, that popcorn light that's still out, lack of daily mousekeeping at some resorts, Disney Springs only playing Pentatonix CDs at Christmas time, EPCOT having never-ending festivals, etc...

I would be surprised if the old/new Bob would set foot in the parks as long as the numbers are holding or increasing. No hands on at all. He has bigger fish to fry

That was the plan. All of the streaming services start off at a loss with. Plan to be profitable withing 3-5 years.
It was the plan 3-4 years ago when streaming was the unfailing future of media. And that bubble got bigger and bigger and bigger…..

Iger has been in the shadows watching, observing and analyzing I am sure there will be modifications, changes and adjustments to suit his style. Those that rejoiced at his departure into (cough, cough) retirement are watching their six now.

So did Chapek actually ‘step down’ at his will or was he told to step down or just straight up fired?

They’re all very different

I'd guess he was told to do so, but nothing concrete out there right now. Could be that the board wanted to make other changes he wouldn't agree to and he would rather walk away. Hopefully someone slips up in an interview this week so we can find out more

Hope so because him choosing to step down is much less fun than the moron getting fired
From the NY Times this morning:

“We thank Bob Chapek for his service,” Susan Arnold, the board chair, said in a statement. “The board has concluded that as Disney embarks on an increasingly complex period of industry transformation Bob Iger is uniquely situated to lead the company through this pivotal period.”

Ms. Arnold called Mr. Iger on Thursday and asked him to consider returning to the company, according to three people with knowledge of the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations.

Iger is back because of ESG concerns. This will do nothing to help WDW.
Not entirely true. I can tell you first hand that there are people at WDW trying to make changes based around GSAT numbers and were being ignored due to the Chapek mentality. The thinking is they will be heard now. Don't expect everything to get reverted but there are significant logistical issues that will almost certainly be addressed now.

5th gate? Just build a new resort Bob.
Cramer is actually pretty good, in particular his interviews.
He doesn't have a crystal ball and quite frankly no one does.
If someone’s takeaway from watching a week of Jim Cramer is “this guy thinks these specific stocks will be good forever and ever” instead of “holy bleep I need to do a lot of homework before buying anything and then pay super close attention to make sure things don’t turn south” they’re not watching the same show as I have watched.

OK, but I'm still blaming Chapek for Mr. Toad's.

What significant logistical issues will be addressed do you think?
