Changing names on a booking

Hi all,

Due to life throwing me a curve ball I won't be going on my upcoming trip with my husband (soon to be ex) I'll be taking a friend instead. Do I just need to ring and change the name on the reservation? Is it that easy? Is there a charge to change the name?

Who are you flying with?

It wil cost you at least the ammount you paid for the deposit if not a lot more. Possibly at least 50% of the cost of the holiday. I'd do it quick though because I'm sure that the change / cancelation fees go up at 90 days.

If its just the DVC reservation it should be pretty painless and free.

Flying with Virgin, already checked the ticket and it's non refundable but £100 to change the name.

It's all booked separately so it's the dvc and the flight to change. Hoping it'll be fairly painless to do the changes.

Aw well £100 is not bad. Virgin do see to be one of the better companies at allowing changes.

Just found a post on another site. Its free to change your DVC reservation, just call member services.

I certainly will, and yeah its not exactly what I thought was going to happen this year but I'm keepin the DVC membership so it's not all bad!!

With DVC there is not inpact with changing names. We have added/removed names several times. Have a daughter in college and we had her on our reservation, then she wanted to have her BF come, we added him since we already had a 2bdrm villa. Now they are not comig so we just removed them from our room reservations, then we down graded from a 2bdrm to a 1bdrm.

Its very easy to change names, we've been members since 1999 and never had a problem changing names -either by adding or deleting, still watiing to see who will joining us in fact this year when we head down new years eve, probably will make last minute changes there as my sons GF will join us IF they are still going out. (Of coruse thats my take on it they are assuming she's coming)

I have found member services to be super accommodating!

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies, it was a breeze sorting out the booking. Member services were great.

Even though I am now going solo this year I am still looking forward to it and really need a holiday!
