Yeah, but not in MK.Actually Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow was the original song for CoP
Yeah, but not in MK.
Yes. CoP was from The Worlds Fair in 64. A lot of good stuff came as a result of that Fair.Well...sortof. The one in MK *IS* the one from Disneyland / Worlds Fair. So, yes, "great big beautiful tomorrow" was the original song for that exact version of the show, even though it was not the original song that played when it opened at MK.

What did you say IYHW? A lot of good stuff? Really? Like what?Yes. CoP was from The Worlds Fair in 64. A lot of good stuff came as a result of that Fair.
Well, IYHW, the most important thing was the advancement in AA technologies. The Imagineers had to figure out a way to make President Lincoln appear life like in his facial features. So, there was that. Also, the people mover, a way to bring visitors through a story was also developed for the 1964 World's Fair. What did you say IYHW? A lot of good stuff? Really? Like what?
My dad took 8mm home movies of that place. We used to love watching it over and over again projected on the blinds! The dinosaurs were my favorite. Looked like Tommorowland.I was 10 when we went to the 1964 World's Fair. Still remember the Sinclair Dino Land, the science show by Dupont and getting my first ever "Belgian Waffle".
No, that is new info for me anyway. I'm trying to get through the Walt Disney Bio by Neal Gabler. That would definitely be a key to unlock Disney's imagination. His father was very strict and he worked as a paper boy when he was really little. He always had to work, so that is where his drive probably came from.I'm sure that this is old news here, but Walt's father was a carpenter on the construction of the Chicago World's Fair that took place in 1893. Walt was born in 1901 and there's little doubt (at least to me) that stories from his father seriously helped to influence Walt's career. I finished reading a book about the Chicago World's Fair not that long ago; amazing stuff.
