Really? I remember someone here posted a pic of one of the globes filled with fog that they said was condensation from the air conditioning....or am I TOTALLY making that up? I thought the picture was very interesting and so it gave me the impression that they were ACed. But if they're pumped with the same air as outside, they must be burning during the summer!!

You are correct in that they were originally designed with AC, but as you mentioned from the pic, the first time they tried them they fogged, so AC was scrapped and plain old fans were added.

Yes, they are hot!

Maybe they're going to take all the globes, turn them upside down and fill them with water, then see if the characters can hold their breath for 9 minutes.

It's about time. It's probably going to take a while to get new parades for MGM and Animal Kingdom though. They brought in four new parades all at once, so replacing SADCT is a good start. I really wish it was more than just a "modification" to the current parade than it is. This seems more like it should be a bandage while they work on something else than an acceptable excuse for a new parade.

Actually it seems MGM's replacement will be here relatively soon--Block Party Bash.

All I have to say is that after seeing the same parade so many times I've lost count -- FINALLY! Any change at this point is a good change.

Although, I do like the David Blaine idea.

This is the picture that I posted last summer which may be the one you're remembering.

As it was explained then it looked like the A/C for the driver leaked into the globe causing the sudden change in temperature fogging the inside of the globe.

SADCT and DCT are one in the same. Some members of this site were not cast members when the parade opened and are speaking out of turn. The globes do get "cold" as described by some cast members that ride in them on a daily basis. 99% sure that MGM will be getting some form of Block Party. MJJP will not be going anywhere anytime soon. The Rafiki Jeep is currently out for rehab...rumor has it that it is on its way to Ohio to be redone. The Adventure Begins truck will replace all Jeep units as they are taken out of show to be redone. The hippo rickshaw was out for almost 3 weeks getting redone...mostly asthetic as far as I could tell. Elephant drum was out for a few days all he got were some new ears. Take it or leave it, this is what I know.

I know it may be a little expensive, but why don't they just use double paned bubbles. Just like paintball masks, to prevent them from fogging they use a double pane of plastic, to prevent fogging.

Now, this may not be that great, because a really cold Air Conditioning apparatus may fog the bubble even if it has a double pane.

If they did this, it could give those poor cast members in the globe a break from the heat. I thought somebody said that it wasn't that hot for the cast members in the globes, however, that would surprise me.

Just an idea...of course the imagineers probably thought about that and ruled it out as stupid.

I'm just an amateur.

The Snowglobes that they currently use are extremely expensive, and having 2 per float would have pushed the budget way over the top. Each "bubble" had to be imported from the UK. The change could be good...let's just hope they keep the harmonizing music track and don't go away from it like Parade of Dreams in Cali. (although I must admit, that's a cool parade, just not original music.)

I just saw the parade yesterday....It was flawless but short. I don't think the changes will ever take effect. We will probably get a new parade before this happens...maybe for the new celebration we will be getting the Parade of Dreams!
