Changes to Mexico Pavilion?

The Mexico Pavilion was always my favorite growing up because of the fully immersive atmosphere that an indoor pavilion can provide. However, on my most recent trip I noticed the lighting in the marketplace was brighter than I remember, which sort of undermined the whole nighttime atmosphere. Has anyone else noticed a change over the years?

It may be a bit brighter in the marketplace area, but I still feel a need for a Petzl headlamp in the restaurant area.

I like the food, but I'd like to see it too.

I didn't notice the lighting on our last visit, but the place was so totally overcrowded that we were mostly focused on getting back out of there as quickly as possible. I was really disappointed in the whole experience in comparison to previous ones.

I noticed that some of the lights may have replaced with LED or CFL bulbs, particularly the globe style street lamps. I'm wondering if that would make the space seem brighter, or at the very least take away from... the "charm" maybe... that the market use to have.

After our first meal there years ago we wised up and always took along a small flashlight with us in order to read the menu. Unfortunately it helped us read the meal total in the end too.:in pain:

Even the outside is not as pretty. The lighting is terrible and they have removed the trees from the temple exterior. But yes, In May I noticed it was much brighter than before, but then where the restaurant is, it is so dark you can't read the menu.

Yeah its looking pretty ratty outside really, plus all the antennas now on top of the building look junky. There are def added recent spotlights in the boat ride as you float by San Angel and its horrible. Why did they have to go and do this? Show quality at Epcot has been declining for some time and getting worse.

I didn't even notice that...

I did not know they did this, I was standing by it in June talking to my kids, when it started to change color. It was a total suprise. They have it done very well, so that you have to be standing VERY close to it to cast a shadow. It really is an awesome effect.

And no, I did not notice any lighting level changes inside.

I did notice this last time. You could clearly see the lighting fixtures and stuff and even just the ceiling. I dont like it.

In fact, I remember being generally disappointed with the quality of ceilings everywhere throughout all parks.

Same. I had like 10 or 15 years between my trips. It could have happened any time or not at all, maybe I just misremembered it.
