Changes to Mexico Pavilion?

WondersOfLife

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I'll check it out in August...

I've always loved this pavilion as my favorite in Epcot. There's tens to hundreds of people on these forums that complain about something in this building whether it's the lighting, restaurant, 3 cabelleros or whatever.. But I've never had a problem reading the menu, and I enjoy the ride, and the lighting always seems just right to me. Maybe it's different from a youngin' point of view! :P (jk)

The only thing I heard of anything recently is the new Projection mapping on the big stone tablet as you enter..

I haven't been on that ride in soooo long!

Though, having watched that video, I now remember why.

Crikey, and people complain on here about Universal's use of screen on rides such as Forbidden Journey!:eek:

Fair play, some of the scenery is pretty, but does that ride need some drop, and a complete overhaul.

The ride 100% reminds me of The Three Caballeros, which I'm fine with. If that is their intent, I think they did a good job. Whether that should be the intent of the ride is up to debate....

It would have made more sense to use the AA's from the Mickey Mouse Revue for the finale sequence rather than the big screen..

I love the San Angel Inn. That awesome interior that depicts a Mexican village at twilight...and the neat booths...and sitting at your table and watching the boats go by...I've eaten there twice and always gotten the Carne Asada, the steak with the cheese enchilada. Delicious! It's my second favorite WDW restaurant next to the Brown Derby.

This is something I like to do..But, when you have no one riding in your boat and slowly pass by San Angel I start slowly singing Yo Ho and say "Dead men tell no tales" It does get guests turning their heads towards the river :D

This!! Word is it was originally planned to use those figures instead of the cheap tacky stage/screen setting, and that they are still sitting backstage in storage, but I don't know if thats true or not. The floodlighting in that room is horrible too by the way, you cant event see the fireworks on the ceiling anymore, it use to be dark and cool and colorful.

Sure you can. In fact, just last month we were on it - my 8 y/o stepdaughter for the first time. First thing she said upon entering the room was "oh, cool fireworks"

Years ago when we went to The Mexico Pavillion they used to have Mexican blankets which I love and leather wallets and in general a bigger better selection of items. Now in the last 4 years or more, they have noticeably cut down on the merchandise. No more blankets or wallets. It's just not like it used to be. Mexico seemed to be the only one to be like this. The other countries seem to still have the same size selection.

yes you can still see them but not like it use to be. the room use to be dark with black lights and subdued show lighting. Now its flood lit, way too bright which diminishes the firework effect overhead. same problem with the entrance tunnel now thanks to the blaring bright cartoon.
