I hope you get the wonderful "mansions" section- the river view rooms are fantastic. Make sure you take the boat down the Sassagoula to Dowtown Disney or PI at sunset:)

I believe all of the Royal Guest Rooms are mansion. Unless I'm mistaken, but I believe they are located in Parterre Place and the one right next to that, and I seem to have forgotten the name of that building.

But anyway, you'll love Riverside, it's my favorite resort!

I am staying at PORS Royal Room in 5 weeks from today (YEAH!!!) I have looked at the map and it is the 2 buildings to the right of the main lobby. They did something very similar as CBR. They upgrade the room types for the buildings farthest away from everything and then charge a premium for it. Regardless, everything I have seen and read are that these rooms are excellent. I will shoot you a PM with a site to get more information from because I do not know if I can post it here.

What is the masion portion? Sounds like I made a good switch.

I don't know if this has been answered yet, but here's my answer. The mansions are half of the resort. The other half is called the Alligator Bayou. The mansions are supposed to be like southern manors and plantations. The Alligator Bayou is supposed to feel like a swamp (The Princess and the Frog, if you've ever seen it.) The Royal Guest rooms make up half of the mansion section (so a fourth of the resort).

I prefer the mansions because they are just more my style. Also it is difficult to navigate through the Bayou sometimes.

Looks like we'll be there around the same time... We switched from AoA (we LOVED it when we were there in December) to Caribbean Beach (upgrade to moderate was free), and might be switching to the Royal Guestrooms at POR, as my daughter has recently replaced her affinity for Mickey with a more "royal" liking.

Thats exactly what I just did. We switched from AOA. I'm glad we did bc I wasn't too excited about making a bunch of adults stay in little mermaid rooms. lol.

Ha! My wife and I (sans kids) were there in December for the New Fantasyland media event. They put us up in a Lion King suite which was quite impressive.

My daughter, 3, wanted to stay in one of the Nemo suites, but they were too big (and pricey) for just the 4 of us. I called to book us into a Mermaid room, but they offered to upgrade us to a moderate resort for the same price thanks to the current promotion.
