We changed our resort AGAIN! From AOA to POR Royal Room River view! Smh. Just ready for this trip. lol 74 days!
I agree!!!!I hope you get the wonderful "mansions" section- the river view rooms are fantastic. Make sure you take the boat down the Sassagoula to Dowtown Disney or PI at sunset![]()

Ooooh, I missed the Royal room portion- double squee!!!I believe all of the Royal Guest Rooms are mansion. Unless I'm mistaken, but I believe they are located in Parterre Place and the one right next to that, and I seem to have forgotten the name of that building.
But anyway, you'll love Riverside, it's my favorite resort!
I would change again to French Quarter, we love it there. Building #3 is great

If you look at my trip report there are loads of pics of the Royal Rooms if you want to check it out before you go. And congrats!! I'm sure you are SO excited for you trip!
What is the masion portion? Sounds like I made a good switch.
I don't know if this has been answered yet, but here's my answer. The mansions are half of the resort. The other half is called the Alligator Bayou. The mansions are supposed to be like southern manors and plantations. The Alligator Bayou is supposed to feel like a swamp (The Princess and the Frog, if you've ever seen it.) The Royal Guest rooms make up half of the mansion section (so a fourth of the resort).
I prefer the mansions because they are just more my style. Also it is difficult to navigate through the Bayou sometimes.
Oh I see. Well we are staying in a Royal Room with a River view.
Looks like we'll be there around the same time... We switched from AoA (we LOVED it when we were there in December) to Caribbean Beach (upgrade to moderate was free), and might be switching to the Royal Guestrooms at POR, as my daughter has recently replaced her affinity for Mickey with a more "royal" liking.
Ha! My wife and I (sans kids) were there in December for the New Fantasyland media event. They put us up in a Lion King suite which was quite impressive.Thats exactly what I just did. We switched from AOA. I'm glad we did bc I wasn't too excited about making a bunch of adults stay in little mermaid rooms. lol.
