Celebration

Hi Guys!

I am interested in moving to Celebration at some point in my life, hopefully sooner than later! I'm curious if anyone knows what the average price for houses are, if living is nice, ect. I know its very expensive, and you have to run through a series of background checks to purchase a home, but I would love to hear from someone who actually knows facts!

Thanks! :xmas:

Last time I looked there was not anything in Celebration under $500,000 and the couple of the projects I have worked on in Celebration have been in the 7 figure range. I don't really know about a background check, sounds a little urban legend to me, but there are some Celebration residents on this board that can answer that question. What I do know is that Celebration has one of the most restrictive set of covenants and restrictions I have ever seen. Read it carefully. If you like what you read Celebration will be heaven on earth. If you have the "It is my house and I will do what I want" attitude Celebration won't be the best place for you to live.

Thanks for the info!

If anyone who is an actual resident of Celebration reads this, please let me know your opinion about the lifestyle. I've grown up a Disney girl, and living that close to the World only seems appropriate.

We drove around and looked at the neighborhood when we were there a couple of weeks ago. We also looked at a condo and went in the sales office, and an open house. The prices were quite high. But the neighborhood looked so nice!

I too love Celebration. From the start in 96 I have wanted to build my dreamahouse there. It is very restrictive but I think one of the first residents said it best when interviewed by the media about people wanted more freedoms to do more and his response was "freedom to do what???". Freedom to paint your house and awful color,or keep backyard neat, keep your yard clean,or have engine parts and old tires sitting on the side of your house.I now live in deed restricted community in Indy after moving from SW fla.I had a great new house and kept it fresh and clean all the time.My neighbors sold to people that didnt share that same attitude and left old rotting tires and engine parts on the side of the house, never cut their grass, and partied outside to 3 am everynight. Its a shame this happens but I will take my chances with a place like Celebration anytime now.
