This is the closest thing will ever see the show when it was being tested with the AA's before they were placed into the theater..It gives you a better look at the AA's and how they reacted to the film..

The animatronics in this show are AMAZING! I remember when I first found the video you posted here, I watched it a couple times, first for Statler and Waldorf and then once to watch the penguins!

I guess many didn't realize that this follows a segment that was showcased on the Jim Henson Hour called "Muppet TV" and the reasons you see Bean Bunny in this and the 3d show was that they hired him to be cute so the other Muppets don't feel as dumb...

And Waldo of course was meant for the show
To introduce 3D puppetry..

Other fun facts the Computer graphics company that helped create him was Pacific Data Images or PDI for short which became the animation studio for DreamWorks several years later

If it weren't for this tech Henson Studios was able to roll out their whole digital puppetry dept.

My wife simply will not visit H.S without visiting the Muppets 3D, its a favorite of her's, it reminds us of what Disney did so well ( and still doing by the way ) but shows like M.V 3D are timeless, Waldo is a bit annoying, but its really mickey mouse so i don't mind ;). But miss piggy on the river bank is brilliant, and remember to look over your shoulder at the end.

My whole family loves the Muppets 3D. My wife and I are gray haired and watched the Muppets when they were new. My kids born in the nineties love them also. Now my very young grandson is discovering them. I say keep it and add anything new on virgin ground.

An interesting set of Behind the scene photo's during the filming..Just Scroll to the right to see more.

Fun fact: Dave Goelz, seen here performing Kermit, is also the current voice of Figment.

Say what you will about the current incarnation of JII, I actually don’t mind Goelz as a replacement for Billy Barty.

Makes you appreciate it even more when you see the love that Jim Henson and his team put into making it.

It’s really painful that WDW didn’t reimagine DHS into a park where each studio either in partnership with or under the Disney umbrella would have a dedicated Land.

I thought that’s where they were going when they created “Pixar Place” and started having Frozone, Edna Mode, and Sully meeting in that area.

Alas….we’ll never get a Storyteller dark ride.
