CBJ shout out on Big Bang Theory

I agree. I overheard this line while DW was watching the show and the ensuing laughter thereafter. There is no way that many people in a live studio audience would know what CBJ is.

You don't think so? I do. It's like It's a Small World and Space Mountain, only not quite as many people know of it. But it is definitely well-known, even if just as a fancy robot show to some people.

P.S.: I think laugh tracks are still needed in most sitcoms. Not all sitcoms have to be wobbly-cameras and self-aware showcases like "The Office".

I don't consider it to be anywhere near as known as SM or IASW. TBBT is filmed in Burbank and CBJ hasn't existed at DL in any form for nearly 10 years and not in its original form since 1986. TBBT is filled with niche references that only a small percentage of the general population at large would get and this is just another example.

Just because a sitcom doesn't have a laugh track, shouldn't have any bearing on how it is filmed or its theme. They used to have sitcoms with live audiences, but if TBBT had one, they would either have to be pretty selective as to who was let in or they would have to use "Laugh!" signs to direct the audience to respond to every random reference.

I generally cannot stand the geeksploitation of TBBT, but some of the Easter eggs, like when Sheldon wore his Blackhawks tshirt are pretty cool.

Sorry, but there are SO many better comedies on TV. Try NBC Thurs.

Laugh tracks became uncool after Will and Grace, Friends, etc.

How I Met Your Mother is the best show on TV...and it has a laugh track...
