It's hilarious.

God knows I like cats, but there's really no competition when it comes to dogs. I'd take a cat over any other pet... A gerbil, a bird, fish... But dogs? NO.

My aunt and uncle's cat, Speck, kills birds and nice and leaves them at the front door. I can't stand that.

Same with me. I like cats, more than any other pet. Dogs top all, IMO.

I've never seen this one! I can't stand Twilight so I find this quite funny!

I saw one not too long ago, with Taylor Swift and in the picture were the lyrics, "We are never, ever, ever getting back together." Then the bottom picture shows the angry cat and under it read GOOD in big bold letter, LOL!

My wife and I have two cats. They are each loyal and loving. Don't let my avatar fool you. I am a K9 cop by trade. I have my retired partner and my current one. I voted for both cause I can!

The cat's bringing them a present. Seriously. It's a way that they show they appreciate their owners. Cats become much more intriguing if you take the time to read several books on their behavior...

That's nice, but I don't enjoy finding dead animals at doorsteps, and I can bet a lot of people don't. Dogs have many ways of appreciating their owners, yet you've never bothered to own one as a pet. I'm not interested enough in cats to learn about their behavior. I find them very boring, they don't go out for walks, they don't play fetch, I've never heard of a cat park, they just sit there and either stare at you, rub against you (which is sweet) or scratch you. You like cats. I like dogs. There's nothing wrong with that.

When I think of cats, I think of lonely, elderly women who are either widowed or never married at all, no offense. My next door neighbor must have had about twenty cats, and she was very odd.

I'm not trying to imply that there's anything wrong with that. Cats just are more interesting if you take the time to understand them. I wouldn't want to own a dog. Some people wouldn't want to own a cat. I actually find the needy nature of dogs annoying. Cats are more independent creatures. With my brother's phobia of dogs, it's impossible for us to even have one. Both of us have lived with cats our entire lives, so it's a tad different.

Mine caught a mouse one morning when it was dark and my mom reached down and touched the thing...We don't let her go outside, so usually she doesn't gift us with a dead rodent. Not that she wants to go outside. My dad opened the door one day and said, "Come on out, kitty!" She gave him this look like he was crazy and walked the other way. I was amused. Our other cats would have been out the door. Of course, this is the same cat that sits in front of the window for hours at a time.

I let my cat bite me for play, though. No way would I ever let a dog bite me. I like the Disney dog movies, though. Bolt (although Mittens amuses me admittedly more than Bolt) Lady and the Tramp (I can't help it, I love those bad cats!), 101 Dalmatians, and Pluto. Best dog ever.

My friend's very funny dog bonded with the cat. They are best friends, and it's adorable. The dog lays on top of the cat and licks the cat's head and the cat loves it. It's hysterical.

See, the difference between you and me is I've owned and had cats as pets, but you've never had a dog as a pet. So I can't really take your opinions of dogs seriously. That's why I'm having a hard time with this debate with you.

Dogs.

Because Cats:
  • Poop indoors but don't EVER clean their litterbox.
  • They do not listen.
  • They kill mice and lizards and plop them down in front of you.
  • They jump up and fly through the house for no reason.
  • They can't figure out that the red dot is a laser pointer.
:D
Lol!!

My cat cleans her litter box. She has some trouble tying the bag due to a lack of opposable thumbs, but she gets the job done!

Don't they all??

A vote for dogs here. My dad's a veterinarian, so I've been around all sorts of animals my whole life. My girlfriend and I have two cats, but I'm very much a dog man. Cats are cute and ours do funny stuff, but they just aren't the same as dogs. We had one dog growing up, a beautiful German Shepherd named Einstein, who was the best dog ever - loving, playful, and very protecting (he'd even walk to each of our bedrooms at night to check on us). After he passed, we got two Yorkies - Mickey & Minnie - and they're cute and all that but super annoying. :p I'm dying to get a German Shepherd for myself, but we aren't home often enough right now to take care of one. Hopefully I'll get the chance sometime soon!

I have 2 cats (Thelma and Louise) who generally spend their time sleeping and plotting to take over the world. As much as I do love them, I have to say that I really miss our golden retriever, who passed a couple of years ago. She lived to please us, and she certainly did that well.
I guess I'd have to vote for both.

It comes down to the individual animal and not the species as a whole.

I live in an apartment and dogs are a huge pain to have here. Barking, needing to go out, leash laws, needing more exercise, etc. I wanted a pet though... I thought I'd hate a cat but eventually gave it a shot. After 2 minutes we were in love. She's fantastic. Totally unlike a lot of cats I've met and better than a lot of dogs.

Neither.
Allergies.
That sucks. I had the shots for five years to get my moderate cat allergy under control (and the 30 other allergies I had). I have a very mild one, but considering my cat sleeps near my face, I'm not worried about it.
