I'm scared at how long these tiles will last. We have seen the tiles on the belly of SSE on this site, and they seem to be peeling. Like an old ID card there seems to be a laminated material that seems as if it may not last. That may be dirt on SSE, but I do not think it will ever have the luster it once did. Does anyone know exactly what it is they are using on these tiles. Martin, I think you once linked a website and it was like a 3M material, that was not 3M, if that makes sense.

Martin, I think you once linked a website and it was like a 3M material, that was not 3M, if that makes sense.

I`m sure someone will chip in, but that does sound familiar. Alucobond was supposed to be `self cleaning`, and again, correct me if I`m wrong, but SSE was one of the first to use what was a new material back in the late 70`s (when the Geo was designed) - though it is much more common today.

Like the CD, it was indestructable until it wasn`t I guess.
