Castaway cay

Awwww...sorry you were on *that* sailing! Yeah, I've been reading where a lot of folks were sick that first night. Icky! I hope y'all got thru that without participating. :hurl: Wow! 8 stayed! I was under the impression it was a smaller number so that's pretty cool. Some people said that DCL should've just given the 25th cruisers a sea day and beefed up the activities. I've never been on a cruise so I don't know how much that would've differed from another Nassau day.

They could do a "sea day in port" while at Nassau. There are very few crew required for port duties. Basicly just checking people on and off the ship. Most of the entertainment can stay on board.

On Castaway Cay it is different. A lot of the crew also staffs the island, so they would be short handed.

Of course when you are really "at sea" there are some advantages. You don't have to look at the port, instead you have ocean views. And when at sea you are pretty much guarenteed nice weather, because the ship will sail around any storms. When in port, you will get whatever weather the port is having.

Latest news from USA Travel.

The storm also closed Disney Cruise Line's Castaway Cay, but damage was minimal. Dream will change its itinerary, rescheduling a Tuesday stop until Wednesday, giving crews an extra day to freshen up the popular call.

With any luck we shall hear about a confirmed docking of the Dream at Castaway Cay on Wednesday and this little nightmare will all be over.

My family and I were on the Dream for a 5 day cruise in July and LOVED it. Wife and I are going in December for our birthdays. My sister-in-laws family went on a 4 day cruise that left August 28th and she told me that they told them they were stopping at Castaway Cay. So, for all you out there that are close to a cruise ( you lucky people) it looks good for Castaway Cay.

We were there on Wednesday. Although there was evidence of salt burn to trees and grass, the damaged limbs have been removed. Disney really got this island right. It was the best day of our cruise by far.

That's great to hear! We are scheduled to cruise on the Dream this coming March, and I anticipate having the same reaction to Castaway Cay.
