Castaway Cay Shore Excursion Cancelation

How often does Disney cancel the Castaway Cay excursions for weather? I have reservations for snorkeling equipment for next week and early weather forecasts have shown rain the day that we should be there. Will Disney cancel or refund for weather? Should I cancel it before I'm in the 3 day window? Would I be able to book it again easy once we are there?

Thanks for any advice on this!

Snorkel equipment is something I don't see them running out of. If it were me and there was a possibility of inclement weather I'd give myself more options by being able to decide on the fly what I want to do. I'd cancel the reservation then decide the day of if I wanted to snorkel. I'd hate to only do it because I paid for it. You know?

Additionally, I don't think snorkeling is cancelled for rain. LIghtning, yes. But I think "normal" rain, with people still being allowed on the beach, would not cancel snorkeling rentals.

Another option you might want to explore is getting your own equipment. The rentals are garbage. Like $10 snorkeling sets from Wal Mart level of garbage. This US divers set is vastly superior to the rental gear offered at Castaway Cay and can be had for under $40 almost anywhere.

My family has done this, and while our stuff is much better than the rental stuff, it's kind of a pain to lug around unless it fits nicely into your luggage. Just a consideration.

Having been on CC and having snorkeled there, I will agree with several of the above posts. First, I would cancel the reservation now and just go if the weather is favorable and/or you are so inclined. Second, the rental gear is low quality and we have much better gear of our own. Third, we did not bring our own gear because we did not want to pack and/or lug around our own gear on the off chance that the weather would dictate no snorkeling. So I agree with most of the foregoing posts, imagine that.
