I remember reading on this or another site that cast members gave nicknames to certain places in WDW. I think there was a nickname for Star Traders in Tomorrowland. Can any cast members share those nicknames here?

^^^^

Same goes for Magic Kingdom...

Jungle Cruise- Jungle
Pirates of the Caribbean- Pirates
Haunted Mansion- Mansion
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad- Thunder
Splash Mountain- Splash

etc.

As for special nicknames, I can't think of any in particular that are widely used...I personally call The Enchanted Tiki Room (Under NEW management!) the Freaky Room, if that counts for anything...

I can't really think of anything except that the two gift shops at the beginning of world showcase are called the towers. We do a lot of other nicknames for backstage stuff though, for ex. time clock stuff.;)

Ladies = "Great Hall South" (GHS or South)
The room in between GHN & GHS (w/ the castle) = "Rotunda"
Boys = "Adventure" ("Did someone say 'Adventure?' Well then, Adventure it is! So hoist the..." --:lookaroun um, sorry. I can't help myself)
Housewares (Mugs, candy, etc) = "EDR" (Enchanted Dining Room)

I'm so not a fan of 'disney-ese' I tend to call things what they are. I find most cast members either on purpose or to sound like they know it all, speak to the guests in Disney-ese. I find that Rude. EX: It is one thing back stage to talk about the princesses going to "Grand Flaa" or to "Fant" or to "Double Spectro", but it is so not cool to say that to the guests "Jasmine has to leave because she is going to be in Fant tonight." Or "we have EMH tonight".

Also, I used this example once before: How arrogant does this sound when talking to fellow castmembers:
"I spoke to my MOD about getting and ER. He said that was not possible and that I would have to take an ROS. I didn't really need the point on my card, so I held out till I couldn't anymore and took the ROS. But I need money so I went on the EHH to pick up a shift. I found something at Dak for EMH but it would cause me turnaround, so I settled for a Pac at MK."

I'm a fan of Disney-ese but I was a backstage CM, working on just about every attraction out there. It would get exhausting in meetings talking about everything on our agenda without it. When I've slipped up and said it around friends, they just pick it up and use it. They haven't found it rude but like I said, I don't tend to say it to guests, and I've never done it onstage. I don't know, I guess I just don't find it arrogant, unless of course they're using a snotty voice when saying it.
And I personally prefer G Flo for the Grand Floridian. Apparently there are dialects of Disney-ese
