Cast Member Bus?

Howdy all!

Just wondered; when I was at Disney World, I saw Disney buses that the sign said DHSP (I think it was). Is it a bus for Cast Members? I saw buses with other "key words" on the sign as well, but don't remember at the moment. Does anyone know where these buses go, and is it only for Disney Cast Members?
And is it other buses as well for Disney Cast Members?

DHS = Disney Hollywood Studios

Not sure what the P is.

Cast Member buses are usually 'VIP Cast Member'. They have used other things, such as 'Snow White', but VIP Cast Member is the one you will usually see.

I thought I saw one with DCHP on it.

I could be wrong.

I assumed it was a cast bus or some other special purpose.

When I worked at the Magic Kingdom back in 05 the "VIP cast member" bus would take us from the MK cast parking lot to the tunnel entrance when we would come to work.

I don't think you'll see many cast buses around, those say VIP and are usually backstage. The ones with character names like Stitch and Belle, a driver told me it means the software was being upgraded or that was the name of the software, something like that.

DHSP could mean Disney's Hollywood Studios Park or maybe it was a special event? :shrug: who knows

Stitch and Belle are typically used at the end of a bus shift, when the bus is being retired for the night, or needs to go off route for some reason. This way there is no destination on the bus, so that guests will not board it. Disney uses the character names because it isn't as tasteful to have a bunch of buses driving around that say "out of service." I am not 100% sure on DHSP, but I think I have an idea. I think it means that the bus is going to Disney Hollywood Studios Parking. Hollywood Studios actually has a secondary bus depot in the parking lot and a lot of extra buses drop off guests there.

Just find my note of the name on the buses.
It was; dhsp, belle, dhokw, dhdtd, dhfq, dhss, vip cast member.
And when I was by Magic Kingdom I saw a bus marked with zone two.
Anyone who knows what/where these buses go?

I'm not sure what the prefix "dh" stands for in most of those. Otherwise, my best guess is:
Disney's Hollywood Studios, bus going out of service/training, Old Key West, Downtown Disney, Port Orleans-French Quarter, Saratoga Springs, Cast Member bus.

As for Zone 2...no idea. I can't think of anything in that area that is know as "Zone 2," though I haven't worked at MK very much.

DH stands for "dead head" which means everyone must get off upon reaching its destination. Its destination is the initials you see after DH. So if you see a bus that says DHFQ, that bus will most likely be going out of service after it reaches Port Orleans French Quarter. You typically see these buses in the morning hours. Once they dead head, they may be taking the bus off the roads or putting it on a different route. DHSP, I believe, is All-Star Sports because I know DHMU is All-Star Music and DHMO is Movies.

CMs use buses labeled VIP Cast Member. I often wondered what those other random taglines were for buses and now I know thanks to this thread. Thanks, guys!

It dawned on me on the way to work this morning--it probably means "Sports" as in All-Star Sports.

Edit: it helps to read the whole rest of the thread--Rinx beat me to it. And, thanks for clearing up what DH means.
