Carts of Ice - Do or Don't

Most ice in those carts come from inedible ice machines. The ice used for drinks comes from a completely different source.
I would not touch the ice, CMs and guests hands have been in and out of it all day.

That would be gross. Just think of all the hands that take a dip in the cart and whether or not those hands are clean...I don't think I can put ice in my drink thats been in one of those carts or on the ground. Yuck!

Ewww gross. I have seen so many people take ice from those carts and put it in a cup. That's just nasty:hurl:. My husband has put it in his hat before.

Not necessarily, the ice does come from the same filtered style ice machines that the drinking ice comes from...it's just what happens to it right before its bagged or filled into to drink wagons that would make you sick.

True. Most of the ice does come from edible ice machine. Technically, you could probably eat it early enough in the day and be ok. Think about it, people put their hands all over railings and such all day and alot of people don't wash their hands before eating. I saw at least 5-10 people take ice out of the coolers at Liberty Square Market while working there today. People will always do it. Especially those that think that we charge for ice and that they are stealing it discreetly. That's always good for a laugh.

I saw a kid dunk an empty sprite bottle in a cart yesterday and fill it with water from the bottom. This was right by an ODF stand with a fountain at DAK... I told him he could get a cup of water for free. I'm now making a point to tell people who I see (and I saw a few) grabbing ice about that. Nasty nasty stuff.

I will admit that nowadays people are more germaphobic than they used to be, but still...

Actually there is an ice machine right next to the Test Track restrooms and one in whats left of the Pizza Piazza kitchen that I've used in the past many times, but both are not monitored for cleanliness and are classified "inedible".
Both machines are/were used to fill carts.

I just saw guests eating ice out of an abandoned cart last night at Epcot during EMH. I couldn't help but think about how that ice was handled before it got there. :(
