Adorable shouldn't be in the same sentence as an off road rally car ride. Intense and fast should be what describes it.

What bugs me more than anything that Disney does is how much they want simulate speed and thrills but won't actually do it. If you're making an off road rally race, make it have speed and drifts like an actual race. Make it feel like the real thing instead of dumbing it down.
Nope, princess can't ride if you do that

Could we say maybe it's trying to show a new ride mechanism when it really isn't. Taking the Door Coaster files from years ago for a Monster's Inc Land in 2027, Guardians being the last thing new Disney has come up with unless that wasn't either. The Car attraction being different with that theming is a reason to occupy it's location otherwise getting rid of the Rivers for just a Spanish Village is so unnecessary.

I don't get it when to me Cars Land in DCA is more popular and iconic than Galaxy's Edge. Galaxy's Edge got two same lands in the domestic parks but they don't want to do the same with Cars. I get that they want to keep something unique especially to DCA but doing that with an IP franchise shouldn't be. Galaxy's Edge didn't need two lands, should of kept it WDW exclusive. It's not stopping Frozen so why with Cars. I'm actually surprised a Cars Land isn't proposed for DLP and that's in another part of the world.
Should've been a full-fledged Cars Land where Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is now, Star Wars taking over the entirety of Echo Lake/Indiana Jones/Backlot area, Monsters Inc. in Animation Courtyard. Just imagine that. And they could have had it all completed by now. Hollywood Studios had the potential to be one of the greatest theme parks in the world.

A brief update on the South Florida Water Management District permit request. SFWMD sent a letter today as they have not yet received a response from Disney to the Request for Additional Information sent on September 11:

The additional information requested by letter on September 11, 2024 has not been received by the South Florida Water Management District (District). This information is necessary for the District to timely complete the processing of the above-referenced ERP application. The requested information was to be provided pursuant to the timelines outlined in Section 5.5.3.5, ERP AH, Vol. I to avoid denial of the application.

If you are not ready to submit a complete response you may voluntarily withdraw the application prior to the application being denied. If you elect to withdraw the application, Section 5.5.3.7, ERP AH, Vol. I, provides a process for you to refile the application within 365 days without the necessity to pay a new processing fee.

Should you fail to fully submit the requested information, or to withdraw the application, within 10 days of the date of this letter, the application will be considered incomplete and District staff will process the application for denial, without prejudice to your right to reapply at a later time.

I wonder if this is an indicator that they may be reconsidering their plans, or more specifically the positioning of those plans

I think it's particularly notable that they did not mention any of this in their announcements today about things happening in the park in 2025, especially if the RoA is going away during that year. Maybe that means we at least have it for another year or two (during which time they could change their minds).

Don’t get excited. The plan is still for the river atttactions and island to close next year. Today’s announcement was about building “excitement” for things coming in 2025. Announcing a string of MK closures that won’t result in anything new for a few years wouldn’t make sense as part of that.

Maybe, but wouldn't they want to put in that it's the "Last chance to experience Tom Sawyer Island and the rivers of America"?

I wouldn't read to much into this, if it is denied they will just re apply, the only to Hong they loose is the application fee which is a trivial amount.

Why is the CFTOD requesting it to be extended? Isn't Disney the one who submitted it originally?
