I'm one of the few who loved Cars 2, even got the Blu-Ray...not sure why people hated it...will be interesting to see what direction they go for Cars 3

Very VERY happy that Brad Bird wants to do another "Incredibles". It's one of the best Pixar films and my personal favorite.

Pirates 5's delay can only be a good thing, IMO. Disney should make SURE it has a good script before it goes any further with the franchise. The last one was so embarrassingly bad. Captain Jack and the Disney attraction deserve better.

More "Cars" - well, that's not a surprise. Lasseter apparently loves the concept, and god knows Disney's marketing/merchandising depts. do too. Well, I don't have to watch it. Thank God!

Interesting! I am looking forward to a sequel for the Incredibles. Cars 3 doesn't surprised me that franchise although not my favorite seems to print money. But I feel like Pixar is becoming Sequelzar, I just love the original movies they have made over the years and yearn for more original content.

And becoming the sequel studio was something Pixar tried to avoid. The problem is once their contract came up for renewal they were saddled with two choices, either let Disney take their characters and make straight to dvd sequels without Pixar or get bought out and be forced to make sequels by Disney. It was a rock and a hard place scenario for poor Pixar.

I'm actually more excited for Cars 3 than I am for an Incredibles sequel, even though I think The Incredibles was better than both Cars movies. I realize that I'm in the minority on this. I think ending the Incredible family's story with the first movie would be a good idea. It was a good ending; I was totally satisfied with the completion of the family's emotional arc. I'm doubtful that a sequel would have anywhere near the same gravitas as the original, especially given how sequel-happy Pixar is nowadays. Then again, I had reservations about a third Toy Story movie, and that turned out brilliantly.

Cars 3, on the other hand, will give them a chance to atone for the second movie. Such a wasted opportunity; a spy movie set in the Cars universe is actually a good concept, but the execution was just so flawed. I just love the Cars characters, though. I think they can support more stories, so I'm eagerly looking forward to a third movie.

I'm with you on this, I too am really looking forward to Cars 3. I agree with the wasted opportunity with Cars 2, they had the perfect story staring them in the face. With the passing of Paul Newman, you had a great opportunity to kind of go full circle with the story.

Set it a few years after Cars, LM has won the piston cup a few times already and has kind of become bored of racing. We join him at his last race already in progress, ahead with a comfortable lead. He looks over to the Pit and notices Doc isn't there, he pits and finds out that Doc has pass. Disillusioned, LM gives up on racing. Causing his relationship with Sally and his friends to suffer. In drives Finn McMissile, an old friend of Doc who gets LM to caring about racing again. Think of it like Rocky 3 but with Cars.
