Cars 2 Money Grab....

Cars 2 was a terrible movie. The pacing was waaay too break-neck, it wasn't very funny, and I hardly cared about anything or anyone on the screen. The first 15 minutes with Flinn McMissile at the oil rig were fun and exciting, but after that it fell flat really fast. Too many long, drawn out scenes of car faces yelling on tv screens. Way too many places where the logic bending in the "vehicles-only" world was just too much.

I get what the filmmakers wanted the heart to be...be yourself, and love your friends for who they are....which is great, but it was not conveyed in any interesting way.

I am sure kids who loved Cars like the movie, and it will sell tons of merchandise. However, there was no reason to drop the ball and not make a good movie held to the same standards as all of their other films that both children and adults can enjoy. There is no reason to defend this dud.

Or people are staying away because of the critics. Cars2 is a very good movie. Cars was my son and my favorite movie and my 9 year old step son loves both movies. There is nothing wrong with a movie for boys. The critics are narrow minded and a little ridiculous. One review I saw criticized the writers for not explaining how the world of talking vehicles came to be. Apparently becoming a critic means suspending your imagination.
I also wonder if the economy is keeping away people that in the past may have seen movies more than once.

Well movie critics can be as bad as yelp reviewers at times, but the amount of critics that have posted reviews evens out those that are just going for gusto.

As for the economy, transformers 3 has made a half billion so far after 12 days.

Movie critics are horrible, I will never take what they have to say (good or bad) in any of my movie decisions. A movie like transformers 3 doesnt stand a chance with the critics. 99% of the time the summer action flick never gets very good reviews.

Well summer flicks are usually not too up on the proper plot or writing, they are more about the action and special effects. That is one of the reasons I am surprised that Zookeeper was released in the summer, it usually does better in the dead of winter when families have nothing better to do.

Well not everything needs to be the Shawshank Redemption to be good.

i saw cars 2 the day it came out and thought it was pretty good but i left for the world on the 25 and i just came back on the 6th. there was alot of cars 2 related merch but it didn't look like they were selling very well

I think the merch will sell well for a very long time. My 2yr old doesnt really have any interest in the movie but he loves the toys. Race car toys with big eyes equals big win.
