Some general questions about CB. I have never stayed there before ,but i hear its nice but large. Now if i want to be close to the food and not to far from a pool where should i request? And if there is anything else to add about the resort feel free to tell me =D thanks.

When we stayed there in 2001, we were in Trinidad North. It was very convenient to the main pool and Old Port Royale, the center building of the resort that has the food court and gift shop, without getting too much of the noise assoicated with them. Just a short stagger from the poolside bar as well.

You didn't mention when your trip is, but you should know that the main pool is currently under extensive refurbishment and won't be completed until mid September.

As I said, we haven't stayed there since 2001, so I can't give you an overall opinion of the resort right now. Back then, we thought it was OK, but not great. The following trip we stayed at POFQ and were so impressed that we've stayed there every year since.

You may want to check the Resort board here for more opinions. In fact, don't be surprised if this thread gets moved there very soon.

Have a great trip.

just got back last week from the CBR and we stayed in Trin. North which is adjacent to Port Royale (food court.) We called 3 days before we were set to arrive and asked to be close to Port Royale, so you could try to do that. Hope this helps and enjoy your stay!

It`s a lovely resort - I`ll be there for my 4th time in July. It is big, and as the above say try to stay near centre if you want to eat and shop. Buildings 37-39 in Trinidad South are quite a walk from OPR -but at the same time very peaceful.

We enjoy staying in Aruba - the walk in a beautiful 10 minute stroll alone the lakeside and over the bridge. Yes, the main pool at OPR is being rebuilt, but in the meantime each village continues to have its own pool.

Just stayed in CBR in May... stayed in Aruba, BLDG 45. It was a short walk to OPR, maybe 10 minutes or less. I really enjoyed the walk every morning, the weather is cool, plenty of birds and bunnies to look at your way to breakfast.

Have fun. And remember the pool is being rehabbed. But there are plenty of smaller pools around the resort as well, I believe every "island" has there own quiet pool.

We like the Aruba building. I think its pretty central its a 10 min or less walk across the bridge to the food court. Also when you book your vacation request the area that you want to stay at then I do that every time and they have always given me my requests.

Popular island...we also stayed in Aruba. We had our own bus stop which was 2 min from our building. We also saw the Epcot icon from the bus stop, too. The walk to OPR was great in the morning. The resort is very large...so be prepared. We walked over a bridge, past the beach and the water to get to OPR. I was with someone who took forever to get ready in the am. So i'd get ready and take our mugs and get coffee or hot choc for myself and soda for her(BIG soda drinker back then) and it was quiet and leisurley.

As someone mentioned, ask for an island close to the hub. This web site has great maps of all of the resorts. Check it out to see where you'd like to be.:)

Jamaica is right next to Aruba...those are two of the closer sections that are not considered preferred rooms. Very nice, easy walk to the food court.

My husband and I stayed in Aruba bldg 54 we were closet to the parking lot and bus stop. Worked well for us since we didn't have the kids with us. We would walk to the food court at night and picked up muffins, OJ, and water for the following morning. It was a good 10 - 15 minute walk. Not bad as long as your legs are not hurting from all the walking in the parks. There is an internal bus that will take you to the food court if you are in a bldg with a far walk. We had a great time. The resort is beautiful. Have a great time.

thanks

Thanks for the great help guys. For those wondering i am going in June so the main pool is being refurbished ,which i am well aware of. Now knowing that i want to be a pretty close walk to the food within 10 minutes and close to a pool does anything change?

i stayed in aruba close to the bridge last time i was at WDW (which is so long ago it makes me sad to think of how long it has been) but i always enjoyed the walk across the bridge. It was a ten minute walk but it was nice to see the small island (even though it may be kinda creepy at night... i'm easily shaken/don't like the dark).
