Carribean Beach vs Coronado Springs

well, never stayed at the coronado springs, but i have stayed at the caribbean beach and would DEFINTELY recommend it. added a nice, tropical feel to our wdw vacation. we stayed in 'jamaica' and it was very calm and quiet there. might have been due to the time of year we were vacationing (september), but it made for nice walks at night and a really peaceful stay.

the custom house (aka food court) was a bit of a walk, but the scenery (and greenery) along the way ensures that you wont notice too much. i'm just a sucker for the tropics, so i could definately see this as a nice honeymoon resort.

congrats, and enjoy whichever you choose...

I've never been to CBR.

I fully endorse Coronado Springs. It is beautiful and definitely provides a romantic setting.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Moderate to Deluxe Resorts.

Congrats and have a great time

Well, I've stayed at both resorts and they're both romantic in their own right. I enjoyed both, but can tell you a couple of things I preferred in one or the other. I preferred the pool in CS, but I preferred the food court in CB. Both can have long walks depending on which area you stay in, but the walks are nice. Hopefully I haven't confused you and hope you have a great time!

I have stayed at both. I liked CBR except fo the food court and the bussing. The time of year which wasn't a very busy time the food court was so crowded and we had trouble trying to find seating. I hate walking around a food court looking for a seat. The bussing was also very crowded. A lot of times it was standing room only and also had to wait for other busses to come along with more room. It was a beautiful resort with lots of colors and nice rooms.
For CSR the food court was much better. When you get there you are seated like in a full service restaurant and the wait service gets your drinks. You still get your own food. We always had great servers that gave my daughter cookies and other things at no charge which was nice. The bussing system is the best. You get out of the parks fairly quick even at night. In the morning and afternoon there are always plenty of seats on the busses. CSR is also very beautiful with many water fountains and topiary located around the resort and the pool area is probably only second to The Beach Club resort. The CSR pool has great theming an one of the largest hot tubs I have seen, oh, they also have the most important things. Margaritas!! The strolls around the resort at night are breathtaking and very romantic. So grab a margarita and take a nice relaxing evening walk and enjoy.

Good luck on your decision:wave:

Coronado Springs is the best!!!! I stayed there in June for 10 days. Everything was so perfect it is such a wonderful resort. We stayed in Cabanas 8A it was vey close to the bus stop and the main pool.

other options?

I notice that you did not mention how you narrowed it down to those two - are they truly your final/only two options? I've stayed at both recently, and actually did stay at Carribean Beach for a small part of our honeymoon (before the 'real' one in Argentina), but neither Carribean Beach nor Coronado Springs would qualify as 'most romantic' in my book (though I obviously chose Carribean Beach between the two). If you're going with a Moderate resort, the Port Orleans Riverside is, in my opinion, the most 'romantic'. Perhaps with some careful planning (ie. purchase of an Annual Pass to qualify for special rates) you could get one of the great deals I've seen on an Animal Kingdom Lodge Safari Room, or something similar. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time no matter what you choose. Best wishes!!

Stayed at CB 9/2001 and loved it. We haven't been to CSR so I can't really comment - it's a moderate resort so I'm sure its nice.

Just flip a coin:
Heads = CB
Tails = CSR

Enjoy your honeymoon!!

We narrowed it down to CSR and CB because my Fiance has already been to Port Orleans FQ and although she loved it, she'd like to see another part of Disney she has yet to see. As we live in the UK we don't get to go often, so when we do we like to see something new.

We'd love to go to AKL, it looks brilliant... however its just a bit out of our price range. As i'm not a US Citizen, I don't think I am eligable to buy an annual pass??

No matter which resort you choose, it will be romantic!

We did CB for our honeymoon and stayed in Aruba, in a building bordering Jamaica. This put us right across the bridge to the food court which I thought was a good distance: A pleasant walk which was long enough to enjoy some of the plants and birds on the island but not so long that we ever got sick of it. I like being close to the food court without being right on top of all the noise.

Also from this location, we could hear the live music as it drifted over the water as we walked to our room every night.

I was a big fan of the double hammocks on the beach *thumbs*
I'd go back just for that reason :king: My own hammock here at home was taken over by wasps last year, and was laid to rest mid-summer. RIP, old friend

you may want to call aboutthe pass i think anyone can buy it

by the way go CS if you like a nice quiet resort and cbr if you want more fun, although CS's pool is phenominal

I've never stayed at CBR, but I would highly recommend CSR. That and POR are two of my favorite resorts. Although the resort is huge, the bus service is some of the best on property.

Have fun!!!

Port Orleans Riverside!!!

But if you MUST go to one of the other moderate resorts...

I'd say CB over CS because the food court at CB is better. At CB, you select what you want and get your own drinks...I hear at CS, you have to let a service person do it for you and they punch a ticket that doesn't tell you the price...

Anyone willing to pay the $300 plus for an Annual Pass can purchase one, regardless of nationality.

My wife and I honeymooned at Caribbean Beach in 1999. We simply loved it. It's design is large but still cozy and quiet. We stayed in Jamaica which made Disney transportation nice since it's the first bus stop but it's also not too far of a walk to the main pool and the food court. But other than location, there's not a lot of difference in the feel of each section.

We stayed in Coronado Springs in 2003 and were rather disappointed. I have always been looking forward to the southwestern theme since I first saw it in 1999 but staying there just wasn't as fun as other resorts we've been too.

Unlike Caribbean Beach, each section of Coronado Springs is very different from each other. Cabanas is very much like Caribbean Beach with small low buildings spread out. Ranchos is similar but with a desert feel. Casitas is much more like a motel. They are 5 story buildings clustered together around gardens and fountains. The buildings look nice but just lack the magic of other Disney resorts.

If you really want Coronado Springs, request a room in Casitas or Ranchos. But if I were planning a honeymoon, I would not take the chance and stay at Caribbean Beach.

I've stayed at both. And will probably never return to Coronado. It's all about theming to me. And while the resort has done a good job with the south american theme, I don't really like the temple look with those Aztec (or is it Mayan) figures around. And yeah the food service is a little weird, if you're going to have a waitress, shouldn't she bring you your food? The CBR has a better food service area, and yeah don't forget the hammocks. To me nothing beats walking down the paths at CBR with the caribbean background music. Plus, I think it's possible to see some of the RoE fireworks from Epcot at night. And don't forget you can also rent watermice at the dock.

My opinion: stay at the CBR.

Ok, so I make that:

CBR: 11 Votes
CSR: 6 Votes

I'm leaning more towards CBR. Both sound lovely, but more of the things we are looking for appear to be here. I just hope i'm not wrong...

I think we might jump on a bus to CSR during our stay though and stake it out for a next visit.

Thanks to everyone! :king:
