Hmmm maybe the boy has a <b>EDIT:</b> "gender realignment surgery" (not a ______ change) somewhere along the century? Maybe he began life as the little wash girl!
I'm trying not to think about it too hard, considering what with all the upgrades the show has seen, the family ages but not consistently with how much time passes - a hundred years and the dad is only that old? and Grandpa and Grandma are still alive and kicking? whoa. . .

it seems like the second daughter is the one that the family has just chosen to ignore....she had crazy ideas about progress and the "future" and the family just smiled and nodded and kept her off the radar.
