I've seen a few comments on other boards about a possible refurb taking place at Caribbean Beach. The specific rumor was that Jamaica Building 41 has been completed and they've moved on to 42. Anyone have knowledge or heard anything else? We're booked there in November in a preferred building. Thanks!

Interesting. I've heard rumors in the past, but haven't seen anything yet.

It would be nice if the Moderate rooms got upgraded to the queen beds like at the other Resorts in the price category.

Anybody else know?

If it is happening and if it's early in the process, Im sure they're trying to keep it as quiet as possible. Room rquests can never be guaranteed, but if someone can assert that they got a lesser room because of the refurb than someone in a newer room (especially when it comes to the sizes of the beds) they'll demand some kind of recompense - another discount on rooms or comped nights, free meals or fastasses, etc.

Hadn't thought about it like that but yes, that would probably happen.

I'm not at CBR by choice but learning to love it. CSR was sold out of queen beds for my week for FD the first day of the Visa promo so CBR was my only moderate choice. Hoping rumors are true but just happy to be going to WDW.

Staying at CBR resort for our trip to WDW in June. Does Disney ever offer upgrades? I remember a time they use to do this.
Occasionally you may get lucky with a room upgrade at check in. However, CMs don't "offer" upgrades. You can ask if an upgrade is available, but you better be prepared to pay for it.

Thanks for the info! Somehow I knew this but always hoping for a little extra magic! Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining, I am going to Disney World! I am going to Disney World! Even though we go almost every year I am still the child who can't sleep the night before!

I've heard that they are starting on Jamaica and some rooms will be suites. Also a murphy bed is included in some of the designs. But there is nothing official yet from Disney that I've seen.

I stayed there this past March - or was it April? The mind is going....Anyway, I thought it was quite nice. I also noticed that there was constant maintenance going on - fences being painted, etc. I loved the bright tropical colors, too.

I should add that I remember really enjoying the outside decor of the resort; the tropical colors really add to it. I also enjoyed the different building names. We were lucky enough to not be too far away from the main building and pool during our stay. I cannot recall it being dirty and remember seeing maintenence crews continually working on various projects to help with upkeep.
