Car Stunt Show or Aladdin?

All this new construction leaves me wondering--with Jay Rasulo hinting strongly that Disney's Aladdin--A Musical Spectacular is coming to Disney World in the near future, perhaps the new construction will actually be to bring us our very own version of DCA's Hyperion Theatre--they could theme it to Broadway, this time, since it's on New York Street...imagine if they built a copy of the New Amsterdam Theatre...~salivating~

Yes, I certainly hope so, not to mention that side of the park really needs some new things. Possible that both shows are coming to the park, along with a new script on Great Movie Ride. That would really up the Studios on my list of must do parks if true.

I don't see the connection here? Other than the world stunt, one is based on Automobile Stunts and action while the other is on Human stunts and actions. The similarities are nearly zero.

Could the Indy theatre hold the car stunt show with some obvious changes to the "stage" (in other words, is the area large enough to hold the show?) If so, could it be possible that the car stunt show will replace Indy and they are also building a new theater to hold Aladdin? I think it would be neat if they built a "Hyperion-type" theater like they have at DCA. Themeing it to the New Amsterdam theater would be perfect, especially since Disney "owns" it. Not to mention, a theater like that could be home to many different great shows in the future. Just pure speculation on my part :)

I'm sure Indy stage is big enough for the show and this seems to make more sense, but the show is so darn popular, would they pull it, especially with a new movie and the DVD set on the way.

Here is a link to a page that has a ride video of The Car Stunt show.

Once the car show comes, people would flock to it and leave Indy forgotton. I think that they should replace the Indy stunt show ( once motors is built ) with the ride because believe me, the ride is AWESOME. Its probably better than any other Disney ride that I've been on! Believe me, if you'd been on the ride at DL or TDL, you'd choose it over the stunt show any day.

As for the backlot, I think that they should move it. If the backlot was gone, the Disney/MGM Studios wouldn't be much of a studios now would it?

Here is a link to a ride video of the Indy ride in DL:

And a link to the one in TDL:

Now, what would you prefer? The old Indy stunt show? Or a new WDW version of the ride?

In my own little Disney dream, I would like to think that a version of Disney's Indy ride is coming to MGM eventually. This would be perfect to tie in with the new movie and would allow the stunt show to be replaced by the car version.

Get rid of the current Indy show bring the new one over from Paris and bring the Indy ride from DL to MGM. If you do these two thing ..errrr 3 I guess you will bring a ton of people to MGM..imo

Dogsrule! I agree with you that it would be nice to have DCA's Hyperion. They need to stick with a certain Theme in MGM and I think your idea would work.

Well, I was just thinking that Jay clearly stated he would like to bring Aladdin to wdw, and I can think of no better place for a true theatre, like a New Amsterdam clone, than at the end of New York Street. It would also work well because, as you all probably know, the front of the Hyperion is a big forced perspective painting, like the end of New York Street. It'd be kewl to see one of those at both ends of the street :) Plus, unlike Hollywood Boulevard at DCA, New York Street stays pretty empty, and could handle the crowds Aladdin would bring.

Toatally agree. Although, the Indy ride would be a little different. No two rides are the same. The Indy ride in Tokyo is a little different than DL's by means of story and encounters in the ride. They'll probably do the same for MGM.

I would like to see some new stuff at Disney Studios, but I would not want the Indian Jones show to be stopped, it is a great show and draws large crowds. Also the Indian Jones show is what the MGM studios is all about in showing how movies and TV are made. Also if all the new shows and stuff happen I fear it would take away the Backlot Studio Tour, and I would really not like to see this happen. The Backlot Tour is one of my favorite attraction, and also is what the MGM Studios is all about in showing us about movies and TV. As happy as I would be to see the new things happen, I would been even more sad by the removing of the Indian Jones Stunt Show and the Backlot Studios Tour.

While the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular may be removed (no reason to think so at this exact moment, however), the Studios Backlot Tour is in no danger of leaving or even moving--the only thing that may change is the route on Residential Street.

:sohappy: I think the possibilty of both the Aladdin show and the new stunt show being added to the back of New York street is some of the best news I have heard in long time for the Studios park. I love the shows that Disney puts on, my two favorites being Tarzan Rocks & The Festival of the Lion King over at Animal Kingdom. Studios is one of my favorite parks and the addition of a great show there would be perfect. I loved Hunchback but B&B does nothing for me. Plus the video I have seen of the Paris version of the stunt show looks amazing. I'm crossing my fingures that these rumors come to pass, woohoo!!!:sohappy:

Ok, first off, its Indiana Jones, not Indian Jones. The car stunt show is baisicly a show like Indy except with cars. It baislicly has stuff like people filming it and deathdefying feats. Alot better than the Indy stunt show in my opinion. Just look at the ride video. Believe me when I say that the ride is alot better than the stunt show. Its really neat.

What you got against Indians? he he just kidding.

Yep I dont like this part of the park because of this. It needs more to spice it up. They pump in traffic and people sounds for effect but its kinda silly when I am the ONLY person on the street!
