Anyone have any takes on the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club? Is the food good, service, etc.... Any recent experiences?

Thanks!

I was there in January...Food is good, service was good, but it wasnt busy..Had the New York Strip...The Disney Dining rep gave me this recommendation when I couldnt get Le Cellier. We tried it, it was good..but I dont think its somewhere I'd return to..No WOW, No Disney feeling...

I went to Captain's Grille this past trip (last month) for dinner, and it was delicious. :D I had the New York Strip, and it was cooked perfectly. The service and friendliness of the CM servers is wonderful, the chef even came out to ask us how our meal was. Great warming atmosphere, a very fun experience for sure. I highly recommend it.

I think you have the Captain's Grille, which is at the Yacht Club, confused with Cape May Cafe, which is at the Beach Club. Cape May Cafe is the Surf n' Turf Buffet. Captain's Grille is a standard table service restaurant.

Great to hear. We're considering it for our trip in under two weeks. Have an ADR there but it's a last minute addition in case we decide we really don't want counter service that night.

We ate there last July and it actually exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious. However, I agree with the poster upthread who said the place was empty and it lacked a little bit of that Disney feel. Service was good but nothing spectacular.

Here are some food pics.

The crab cakes:

And chicken with pearl pasta and mushrooms (this was delicious!):

I have to say - it was a last choice when we went there a few years back. Boy were we suprised. The food was awesome! The service was superb! Its not your typical disney resturant. Its a hidden gem. Can't
wait to eat there in a few weeks when we come to the happy place!:xmas:
