Captain EO in pretty Lousy Shape

In another case of Disney not fixing things right away, I saw Captain EO last night and there were a few things that badly needed attention:

1. One of the curtains covering the doors into the theater was broken and always open.
2. In one spot, the curtain covering the wall in the pre-show area was uncovered and in a weird position.
3. In the theater, one of the seats was making a loud rushing air noise because the water spraying device was broken. It really disrupted the entire show.

Hopefully these problems will get fixed soon.

One the positive end, however, it got a new sign near the exit:

Sorry the pic is a little dark.

I had the pleasure of working between the rows of seats the night they decided to work on the spray effects (and got very wet). They put post-its on the sprayers then tested them. The papers that didn't get wet were the ones that needed to be fixed. Some of them work much better than the others. There was even one in the 2nd row that sprayed about 15 feet back! But these effects are very old and I think it's about time to just replace or gut the attraction altogether.

4. Its a terrible show.

I disagree! I love to see it! (I think we have seen at least 7 seven times.)

I love the music, which I end up singing the rest of the day. Plus it is a classic. When the show leaves I will be dissappointed, but ready for a new one. I don't want them to bring back Honey I Shrunk the Audince back.....

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Captain EO again, I was too young to remember seeing it during the first run.

Still lightyears better than HISTA despite being cheesy and very 1980s. Also haven't seen a crowd react so positively to a show like that in years, HISTA never got reactions like the ones I saw in early Aug.

Agreed! I love the music! That's pretty much the only reason I've seen it as much as I have already. Glad it's back.

I agree!! It's horrible!

I like the music, but that's because I'm a kid of the 80's, but the show itself is TERRIBLE. The plot is soooo corny and not well thought out, the acting is poor, and the effects...very 1980's. If they could've re-done the whole show with Michael like say, back in the late 1990's-early 2000's, it might've been better.

It's worth seeing though. And I know it makes MJ and Captain EO fans happy.

I hope to see something WAY better than both Captain EO and Honey I Shrunk the Audience put in it's place in a few years.

As far as 3d shows, it didn't do much for me. The 3D affects seemed dated and not as good as HISTA, although if HISTA was still there I would have skipped the show.

The best 3D show at WDW right now is Philharmagic.

I guess if you are a MJ fan you probably would have liked it. I'm neither a fan nor a non-fan, if you know what I mean.

I wouldn't call it the "best" (MuppetVision comes pretty close ;)), but PhillarMagic is, in my opinion, one of the greatest attractions to come out of WDI.

For our family, we skipped Captain EO and didn't feel bad about it. Next year we'll skip it again.

Sounds like me and numerous other families when HISTA was around. :D

Why are some people so against EO?? I'm not and MJ fan at all and I found the show to be really enjoyable. The effects were really good(Not everything has to be CG people. Stopmotion is better :D), i really liked the effects(though I would've loved to see some of the old effects) and it was just a fun movie. I really came out of the movie loving it. I wouldve seen it more than once if I got the chance to

I'm returning in October and have never seen EO and am looking forward to it. HISTA had become a show we would skip on recent trips, so EO should be fun.

i was there a week ago and everything looked fine. still a fun show and better than hista. seriously, i'd rather clean all the bathrooms
in grand central station with my tongue than to see hista again.
