Captain EO at Epcot:

Agreed. Such a cop out of doing a new attraction. I understand people loved it, but I just think.. They decided to get rid of it for a reason... Why go back... Isn't that the opposite of what Epcot is supposed to stand for?.. But whatever.

Say what you will about the Disney company, but they don't mess around when it comes to allegations of kiddie-diddling. Just like they got rid of other attractions for a reason.

I wasn't even referring to that, or even thought about that in any way! Such a ridiculous conclusion to come to.

I was saying they get rid of things for a reason such as not being popular anymore or making way for new attractions.

I saw it when I was younger as it first came out. The missus has never seen it but we popped in to DCL in 2012 and caught it out there. Once was enough and we are done. I understand why they brought it back, but this attraction should really have fallen under Limited Time Magic.

I never got to see it during its original run but it always screamed Disney at me because they used it in a promo for DLP and a snippet in the Opening bof DLP. Glad I got to see it and I'm glad they explain at the start that its old. Jacko died in 2009, I think its time for another change. Nostalga only takes something so far.

How the HECK did Disney pony up the time and money to give AE: Invasion such a well-themed preshow and lore?
For those who haven't seen the DisneyQuest game, it's the coolest little bit of unnecessarily-nice theming.
The Alien Encounter universe must have been some Imagineering exec's pet project, and I can't imagine Disney doing anything like this today for such a piddly little DisneyQuest attraction.

The Disney Corporation's first and foremost line of business is media (Film & networks). You'd think they could commit to produce a new short film every other year for this attraction, even if it does turn out to be nothing more than promos for upcoming films. (Yeah, you know they'll go there! LOL)

Nope. I get the impression that the Disney theme park division has cut ties with the film division of the company and has to plead and bargain with them for the slightest bit of attention.

Saw it last year for the first time (previous lack of desire to see it was squashed by my wife who persuaded me to go.) None of us were pleased with the results. I suppose it was state of the art for its time but it was just bad.

A.K.A The money they spent on dedicating a whole sound stage to a Narnia advert.

I think it is a decent attraction, but should only run for a limited time. I agree it is very dated but it
acts like a history lesson for film making.

Got to say I really quite enjoy it. It brings back memories of Epcot from years ago and as such is quite nostalgic for myself and others it would seem. The other thing is it's hard to imagine getting a more famous artist to be involved in a Disney project, like him or not Michael Jackson is one of the most iconic performers in history. Of course it does look very dated, especially to the younger audience. However for those slightly older visitors it's probably a very welcome return to another time and after all Disney is for the whole family. Because of this I have no problem with it staying and if there's not a huge wait I'll happily enjoy it on many more occasions

Anything is better than HISTA.

However, it was supposed to be a tribute to Michael Jackson after his death. He's been dead almost 5 years. The tribute excuse doesn't hold up anymore.

They called it a tribute, I called it cashing in on his death.

I always thought it was tacky to bring that show back after he passed away.

I think it would have been a neat idea if it only lasted a month or so. Now it's just annoying.
