Caprese at Earl of Sandwich

The front page story in today's food section is grilled cheese sandwiches. (No, not Wonder and Velveeta!)*.

Paragraph 3 talks about a sandwich called caprese at Earl of Sandwich in DTD. It is mozzarella cheese, roma tomatoes, grilled and drizzled with olive oil.

sorry about that, I had to wipe the drool off the keyboard

Can anyone confirm that it is as great as it sounds?

*although I can assure you that Wonder and Velveeta is helped immensely by the addition of bacon and lightly grilled tomatoes.

Sounds great! Sorry I cannot answer your question, but I will say that those are the traditional items in caprese (Though it is traditionally not served as a sandwich). Man, do I miss the Mozzarella from when I lived in Italy... I ordered caprese all the time.

YES YES YES!

That's the sandwich I got!

It was the first "real" sandwich I've ever eaten in my lifetime (besides PB+J and regular grilled cheeses.. and cheeseburgers)...

regardless... yes... It was absolutely scrumptious!...

Get one and wash it down with a nice cold Earl Grey Lemonade... :slurp:

I don't know if that's the official name for it, but it's a beverage concoction they serve there made by mixing iced Earl Grey tea with fresh-squeezed lemonade... Interesting combo... but tasty!

Only place in WDW vicinity that has "serve your own drinks"?

What about the food courts at the moderate resorts?

Move to RI- we have some of the best Italian food around on Federal Hill: just yesterday I had a grilled mozzarella, tomatoe, pesto and greek olive panni at the little cafe across the street from my office.:slurp:

Can't wait to try it!

Starbucks has a version of the earl grey lemondae (I think its a black tea lemonade) All in all, its just an Arnold Palmer (for anyone familiar with those). Very yummy.

I love caprese for an appetizer at italian restaurants. I bet the sandwich rocks.

OMG....100 posts!
