This will probably not be very important to many of you, and it's not really Park news, but I found out yesterday that the music for the Candlelight Processional is now available for purchase. I am the Music Director at our church, and while in a bookstore yesterday, I picked up a collection of Christmas music entitled "Noel, Light of Everlasting Love", to purchase. I looked at the titles and at the music itself, but did not read the description of the music.

When I began to play the CD, I knew the arrangements sounded familiar, and then I realized that it was the score to the Christmas Processional. On the back of the book it makes mention the music had been presented to "thousands at a major American Theme Park" and I realized it was the music to the CP.

Just thought I would mention it in case there are any out there who are looking for music for their school or church choir. I've already got our Christmas music selected for our Living Christmas Tree this year, but will definately use some of them in 2009.

We are returning to Disney for Christmas again this year. The first thing we booked was the Processional. It is like the heavens open up! Thanks for the info.

Did not know that they did this. I've never seen the CP, but just assumed the choir was made up of local folks.

Some are Disney cast members but most are from various choirs around the country, with most being from the East coast.
The program that you get at the CP lists all the choirs.

The name of the CP comes from when they enter the theater carrying candles. (electric ones)

To see CP, use the dinner package so you will get a good seat.

Where did you find it? I've been looking for the score for awhile now. I'm moving from Youth Ministry over to Music, so I could maybe use this is the near future.

Did Disney arrange the Candlelight Processional themselves? Or did they use this material as the source?

Just wondering, because this seems more like someone emulating the arrangement that Disney uses, as opposed to the actual sheet music used. Just wondering.... :)

Both the book and the production are arranged by Derric Johnson. This is definitely a different recording, though.

The tree is cast members, the rest are volunteer choirs who get paid with Disney tickets. yay!

Alot of choirs do it, and only perform for a night maybe 2, than go to the parks

Plus you get to see Illuminations

I understand that I am more than 10 years late, but would any of you happen to know if the orchestral score of the Candlelight Overture is available for purchase/download (for example: a PDF).
