The Canadian skaters, Jamie Sale and David Pelletier have been awarded a GOLD MEDAL by the IOC in a rare move to award gold medals to both the Canadian and the Russian figure skaters... :sohappy:

An investigation by the IOC has found misconduct involving the French judge and has suspended her....:sohappy:

Although I still dont think the Russians deserve a Gold, period. :p

...I agree with ya, but i'm willing to give them a pass cuz the moronic judges have caused enuf anguish and the Russian kids need not be dragged thru the septic too. The WORLD knows who was the best that night and the olympic history books will show it too.

Yeah, I think this is great for the Canadians, they did deserve it. I'm just a little upset about the russian response, they blame it all on NBC and North America. Maybe they should look at their performance and compare it to the canadians (they must not have), if they had, and they were true sports, they would have handed over those Gold Medals at the awards ceremony.

I completely agree that the Canadians should have received the gold medal. But, because of the poor judging the Russians were given that honor initially. It doesn't mean that the Russian skaters are the "Bad Guys" and I honestly don't think they should be made out to seem so. They were given that medal by the judges, unaware of what was happening at the time. Their moment of what should be happiness for achieving such a goal shouldn't be taken away from them. Granted they weren't the best, but there are other instances that come to mind (Paul Wylie and Viktor Pentrenko for example) that something similar happened. Judging is very opinionated and what one person may think is best, another may think is only second best. Obviously this is a different situation now as we are seeing with the suspension of the judge, but I still don't believe the Russians should be made to feel bad for what should be a very happy moment in their lives.

Ohh geez, thanks a lot. It's been a while since I've watched the movie. I just remembered that much off the top of my head.

no worries...i was worried after i wrote that that i'd come across as a nitpicking jerk because it is one of my fave flicks, but i figured that i'd tell you anyways because you would want it right if you were gonna use it as a signature...

we'll see, getting back into the sport is the easy part, i've got tons of connections from the last time i did it...i hope i make it...i doubt i'd win a medal, but i could make it because the talent pool is kinda thin...we have a great sledding program up here and we consistently place well, but there aren't many people doing it...and alot of the people who do only do it for recreation, not competition, so making it to the olympics shouldn't be impossible, but we'll see! i just have to find a fast brakeman, seeing as i do only the 2-man sled...we'll see time will tell...

just so long i don't have to compete in salt lake, it's seriously a stupid track! it's way too short...it's 500 meters shorter than the one in nagano, and that one was considered far too short...the one here in calgary is considered normal size and one of the best tracks in the world, and it's 1563 meters! i wonder just how short the salt lake one is...none the less, it's retarded!

hey speaking of bobsledding, canada's 4th after the 1st day of 2-man competition! good sign for tomorrow's final day of competition, should be a medal in the cards for us! :sohappy:
