Can you walk from SSR to POR?

You can walk anywhere.:drevil:

However, it would take along time and would be dangerous. The boats run from DTD to POFQ/POR all day. I also think that the resorts are on opposite side of the Sassagoula River. Crossing would be a challenge without a boat.

Simple question, can you walk from Saratoga Springs to Port Orleans Freach Quarter/Riverside, or do you have to take the boat?

Theoretically it can be done. However there are no sidewalks along either road (DVC Way and Bonnett Creek Pkwy), both roads are relatively busy and are not real safe to walk along. Disney does not encourage walking outside of the parks or resorts. I've actually seen security stop and pick people up rather than let them continue walking where they shouldn't be. BTW, it is about 2 miles from the SSR lobby to the POR lobby.

There are some pretty tight places to walk with no sidewalks. I would be more afraid of a lurking gator in the bushes than I would be of traffic. :lookaroun My answer is definitely no. Take Disney transportation.

Animaniac, unless there has been a change within the last year, the water taxi goes from the PORS/FO resorts to Downtown Disney and back. I am not aware of a boat from SSR to Port Orleans.

I think the OKW Trumbo Ferry now goes to both SSR and DTD.Not sure if the PO Ferry does the same.

I don't think you can walk from SSR to POR. Nor do the boats go directly. The boat from POR goes to the marketplace. From there you can catch another boat to SSR, or simply walk.

Regarding walking...you can walk all the way around the lake at DTD, encompassing marketplace, PI, West Side, a bridge over to SSR, and then through SSR and along a sidewalk back to marketplace. Takes 30 minutes or so, and my wife and I calculated that as exactly the amount of walking necessary to justify a stop at Ghirardelli's for ice cream <g>.

You can also walk from DTD (or SSR) to OKW, along a lighted path through the golf course and along with the waterway.

I don't believe this paved trail through the golf course is lighted all the way to OKW from SSR. As you get past SSR, a sign is posted that the trail on to OKW is only open during daylight hours for safety reasons. It's a nice, pleasant walk in the daytime. Many people staying at OKW don't know the trail exists, and it's kind of a hidden treasure when you discover it.

I did a photo walk from OKW to near DD (where DD/SS/OKW meet) and then from SS and around Dowtown Disney in a circle.

The path from OKW is only open from dawn to dusk, not after dark. I am guessing there are no lights there.

I don't know about from POR, I haven't seen a path.
