 Hello I have a quick question, I have read once on these forums (tried to search couldn't find it) that if you enter a park with a one park-a-day pass, if you leave in less than ten minutes from that park, you can enter another park that same day with the same pass. Is this true?

As far as I know this is not true. Once you pick a park to use your one day one park ticket on you can only re-enter that same park if you leave it. If I'm wrong at all please shoot me because I really should know this for 500% sure being a Disney Freak. ;-)

I have no idea where you read that, but it's not true.

In fact, if you enter a park, exit, and then try to either re-enter the same park or a different one within a short timeframe, the turnstile won't admit you, and will give an error message to the Cast Member.

It was originally supposed to prevent two people from trying to get into the park on one ticket in rapid-succession, but I'm not sure how necessary it is now that they're doing the finger scans for ALL tickets. Most people that it happened to it was jsut an innocent problem, such as running back out to the car to get something they'd forgotten. (The error is easily over-ridden by the CM)

Also, there's no way of the computer knowing when you *exit* a park. You don't swipe your ticket. And I'd be mighty impressed if you could even make it from the turnstiles of one WDW park to another in less than 10 minutes, unless you drove yourself and were an utter speed demon. Though perhaps from the International Gateway to the Studios if you REALLY sprinted...

So short answer is no, with a base ticket that gives you one-park-per-day, you can only enter ONE park per day. (And no, you can't use additional days to enter additional parks on the same day).
Plus, why would you even want/need to do this?

Thanks for the quick replies! The reason I wanted to know is becuase I wanted to pick up some specific merchandise and didn't really want to spend time in that particular park and the shipping charges are really high. If someone could hook me up and help me get something from Disney MGM Studios, PM me, I'd appreciate it! Thanks again!:D

Once upon a time there was this thing called a shopper pass or something where you were in for an hour and had to prove you went shopping or else you would be charged, you had to put a deposit down or something - this was all handled by guest relations. I THINK.

I am not sure if this ever existed, you may want to check with guest relations at MGM.

Contact Guest Services. They have a free one hour shopping pass at Disneyland so they may have a similar program at WDW. You have to put up the cost of the ticket, but it is returned to you if you return within the specified time frame.

I wouldn't think that you could b'cause they swipe your card when you enter a park & it's in the system that you were in that particular park.
Anyway, what would you do in a park w/in 10 minutes:shrug: :)

I'd have to disagree....I don't think that this is something that's available at WDW. They may have allowed it at DLR in the past (though with DTD I'm not sure they still do) because of locals not needing a pass to shop for an hour.

With local traffic less of an issue it is not really necessary.

If it is available...I'm sure it would only be available for locals. I seriously doubt that they'll let you in the park, no matter how long and not use up a day on the pass.

One thing to note...if you do use up a day on your pass, you cannot enter another park and use one of your other days. It's one park per day.

Now that I've had the time I've been able to do a search and it looks like there are no more shopping passes at WDW. From allears, scroll down to the very last section at the bottom of the page...

You were not using a day off your pass, The way it worked from my understanding was that you had to put up the money for a one day ticket, you were allowed to enter the park on that shopping pass but you had to return to that same ticket window within 1 hour to get your money back or you bought the 1 day ticket. Must be gone now though.

Doesn't sound like the shopping pass option is available. I'd still contact Guest Services and ask about specific merchandise availability, though, since it sounds like you know exactly what you want to purchase.

I agree. I can't see Disney passing up an opportunity to sell merchandise to someone :lookaroun

If you know what you want, Disney Merchandise will locate and ship it for you as long as the item is still being sold.

Are you planning on going to a certain park one day, but think the merchandise might only be available in another park? If you knew what you were looking for, and cared to share it on the forum, I bet a bunch of people would know where you could find it. It might be available at World of Disney at Downtown Disney, they carry a large array of Disney merchandise that is also available throughout the parks.

From the All-Ears Page - which is probably one of the best descriptions I have heard, except for one little incorrect caveat, which I bolded (Don't do this, especially during parade and fireworks times)

"Shopping" or Time-Limit Passes
This was available from Guest Relations at the major parks at one time but seems it has largely gone the way of the dinosaurs. A 'shopping pass' as they were called is part of a "time limit" admission media. Distributing a time limit pass is an exception to the general admission media rules. All time limit admission media is distributed at the sole discretion of the Guest Relations CM distributing the media. Most will not allow it to be done anymore. My advice is if one CM tells you there is no such thing as a shopping pass that you ask him/her to check with their supervisor.

Part of the demise of these "shopping pass" admissions has been the result of Disney Merchandising. At one time, each park had many items that were specific to that park and were only available at that park. For example, a Splash Mountain sweatshirt could only be had in the Magic Kingdom itself. But now, the existence of park specific merchandise is extremely limited. A higher percentage of park merchandise is just as available outside the actual Theme Parks as inside their gates.

Just in case you find yourself the rare exception and still manage to obtain a one hour park shopping pass, here is how it works. This shopping pass is available only at the Guest Relations window at the four major parks. The deal is you must put a charge card imprint (they may take cash for it but I'm not sure) equal to the amount of a one day park pass at full price. You will have one hour to enter the park and do your shopping or whatever.

If you do not make it back to the same Guest Relations window within an hour, they will put your charge through as a purchase and you become the owner of a one day pass. If you do get back in time, the charge slip is voided and it will have cost you nothing.
(It goes through as a purchase, then a refund, which both have to be approved by your bank... the purchase happens very quickly, the refund.... not so much - Enderikari)

This was set up to allow people to go back to a park to purchase an item or items that they forgot and are only available in the park. Only one person in your party will be allowed in on the shopping pass.
