Can you use a Disney travel agent if renting points/staying off property

Hi! I was searching online and couldn''t find a clear answer to this question: can you use a Disney travel agent if you don't book a hotel room with them and just buy tickets through them?

Our last trip was 2018 and everything is different now, including no dining plans. We are considering all different options for a potential trip in 2023 including staying on property, renting points, or staying in an airbnb. Last time we stayed at AoA and used a great agent. Thanks for any clarity you can give me.

Depending on how many theme park days you are looking at, you might be better off purchasing your theme park tickets through a 3rd party like UndercoverTourist.com. 3rd party ticket sellers like UT sell multi-day tickets at a discount (the more days, the better the discount) which the TA may not be able to do.

Disney does not have travel agents, per se, just cast members who answer the phone and help with reservations. Anything they can do via the phone you can do through the Disney web site, including ticket purchases.

There are independent travel agents who specialize in Disney who can book hotels both on and off property, and help with tickets. We have used Kingdom Konsultants (a sponsor of WDW Magic) many times and are very happy with their services. They also know Universal and other Orlando parks and accommodations.

Thank you. This is the part I am getting at. Will one of these agents book off site or partner hotels and be able to offer planning services? What if we rent DVC points? We are not opposed to staying onsite, in which case we would be booking through an agent, I just am confused about how it works if we don't do that.

I'm pretty sure @Kingdom Konsultant can hook you up with pretty much any hotel and provide you with planning services.

Thanks! That is good to know. I'd hate to waste someone's time or take advantage of them if we decided weren't going to stay on property.
Be upfront with them and they will let you know their practices and procedures.

Travel agents work on commission that they receive from the suppliers that they book the trips/hotels/tickets with, so if you only want to use them for their planning services some will ask you to pay a planning fee so they can get paid for their time.

I know for sure that Kingdom Konsultants helps with most everything including planning services. The only thing I do not know is if they help with DVC point rentals. @wannabeBelle (Marie) is the agent we have used. I thought I knew a lot by reading these forums and past experience. Marie helped me understand even more - especially the pros/cons of room only bookings, package bookings (room + tix), etc. They do not charge a fee for services so I have booked simple vacations through Marie so that she gets the Disney commission as a thanks for the time she spends educating me.

We cannot do anything with DVC, although some of our agents understand it really well. Some of our agents had offered planning services in the past for a fee if you werent booking a vacation package or room only reservation through us . I'm not sure currently though. E mail us at Vacations@kingdomKonsultant.com and we can find out if we can be of any assistance.
Have a great day!! Marie
