Can you remember the first attraction you ever did in Disney World?

1989 our trip was our first trip abroad from the uk. I was 12, my brother 7. We landed late because of a storm and on our first day got up and went straight to WDW. We were staying on international drive and got the mears bus. I remember standing and my dad tapped me on the shoals look over there - it was spaceship earth and my mouth fell open, after dreaming of visiting WDW for years it was my magic moment which hooked me.

After arriving at the TTC we bought our tickets and took the ferry boat (I'd memorised the tips from the birnbaum guide), entering the MK we had to stop to put sun tam cream on (I got annoyed with my sensible mum). We jumped on the railroad and went to mickeys birthdayland to see the stage show. Then we went to tomorrowland and ate at the old tomorrowland terrace, my Dad got confused ordering and we ended up with several bags of potato chips and fries (which are called chips back home). Then we lined up to ride the star jets (we almost queued for space mountain because the line looked smaller - we knew nothing about the hidden lines!).

After that we run round all the famous rides, pirates, mansion, small world, 20k.

Over the next 10 years we visited WDW more times but I will always remember my first day in another country as that magic day

actually the first thing I remember about disney world was riding the monorail and seeing the topiaries ( spel) the bushes cut into the Disney shapes and figures.. in fact watching this video pasted this week from 1974, I started crying as I saw those as they rode the monorail.. I was shocked that you could shape bushes that way.. what did I know it was 71 and I was 14 and from Wisconsin.. never seen any thing like that..

Not to sound picky but I am guessing you mean 1964 not 1965 New York World's Fair
The World's Fair was open both years. I have a few pics my dad took of me when we were there and I was guessing my age to be five, so 1965. I was assuming that CoP was there both years, but if not I'll sit corrected. :)

I was nine on my first visit but I can't remember what we did first! I remember being awed as we walked through the castle so we probably did Fantasyland first. Maybe Philarmagic or Small World?

It's A Small World. I wonder how many folks realize just how controversial this ride was in 1971...Orange County schools were only fully integrated in 1970. No black families lived in nearby Ocoee, or Windermere for that matter. It's A Small World was cutting edge back then.

The first ride in Disney World was In 2001 we there for four days three night we were staying CBR we didn't know anything ( we were really being taken for a money ride) but the ride was Tom Sawyer's raft ride. My nephew was 9 years old he was thrilled he was at Disney. Until he saw Splash Mountain it was 11 am at MK and fast pass was for 4 pm, he wanted to go on he almost started to cry and I promised him if he didn't cry I would make sure that we would come first thing the next morning and that would be the first ride when we came back. And the next morning it was the first ride and he has been hooked ever since.

Before that it was when I was 6 and I went on It's a Small World at the World's Fair I never forgot that every time I go on that ride that time when I was 6 and how amazed I was, the same look my nephew had when he was 9 ( it was worth all the money and headaches in the world).

Haunted Mansion in January 1972. I really wanted to ride the Pirates of the Caribbean first but it didn't open until 1973. I was incredibly disappointed as I remembered when Walt Disney would give updates on the attraction as it was being designed and developed on the Wonderful World of Disney.

And the song was the Now is the time one....great big beautiful tmrw is a wonderful song...but maybe because of Nostalgia I prefer Now is the time...........

I think I've stated it here before - the clearest memory I have of my 1973 & 1974 trips to WDW as a kid was the bump on the express monorail ride from the TTC right after it goes through The Contemporary Resort. Sounds silly, but after that bump, I knew I was "home".
As for real attractions, I just remember crying a lot after The Haunted Mansion & having my mom yell at me that I better not close my eyes during Snow White's Scary Adventures (yes, she was one of those parents - still is :grumpy:).
I know I was in awe and believed in every speck of pixie dust I experienced at all other attractions (and my husband wants me to add - that hasn't changed to this day :)).

My first trip was when I was 4 or 5 years old (1989-90?)..I don't remember much. I do remember getting escorted out of the haunted mansion, after the stretch room lol. I freaked out, so my mom found a cast member to help us exit the ride early. My only other memories are of the Living Seas and Imagination - I absolutely adored the aquariums and Figment. I have a picture of me wearing a Figment hat during that trip. :)

The next trip was when I was 8 or 9. That's the trip that got me hooked, along with the rest of my family. I think it's because on that vacation, we went during the off season, and we decided to stay on the resort. I have been a WDW super fan ever since - now in my mid 30s! I've probably been back around 15 or so times..I've lost count!

Anyway, on that trip, I'll always remember riding Pirates of the Caribbean when we arrived at the Magic Kingdom and falling in love with it. Spaceship Earth also left a profound impression on me. While I agree that EPCOT needs some TLC, I think that trip is why I like the nostalgic, dated aspects of EPCOT to this day (and probably why it's my fav park).

I'm guessing here, but based on old family photos from the 70s, it was probably The Tiki Room or the Jungle Cruise. I was just shy of two years old, so I'm not remembering, but I do wish I knew for sure.
