Can you plan a trip in 90 days?

In my past experience (limited to watching my parents) I've seen the planning process spread out over close to a year. However now that I'm mostly grown up, my wife and I started talking about planning a tip for the last week in June this year.

Is this reasonably easy? What kind of challenges or limitation will I face in trying to do this? Thanks in advance!

It is definitely doable, especially if it is the slow season. I've done quick trips and booked on Monday and left on a friday. I got the hotel I wanted with Florida resident rates and the dining I wanted. I just booked for Memorial Day Weekend last night. I would have saved about $40 on my hotel had I booked a month ago when I wanted to, but I couldn't, and I got Chef Mickey's for the night we arrive. We have to discuss where else we are going to eat. My thing is that I am flexible. Although I prefer to stay on site I will book offsite, but I also drive, so I think it gives me flexibility. Flexibility lets you plan a trip in a shorter time frame.

I just booked a trip for the end of may. Got a nice discount and had my pick of ADR times, including ohana. Honestly I think my last 4-5 trips have all been booked around three months out. As long as you are experienced a couple months is more than enough time.

Absolutely!! I booked our mid-April trip on Feb. 29th. No problems, but then we never do ADR's. (I have no idea where I want to eat next week, let alone in months). We prefer to just wing it, and got lucky on the plane tics at 180 RT.

I've done it with less than 30 days to go. The ADRs were all over the map, but it went quite well. It was this vacation where I tried to change some ADRs closer to the time we were to go and found that was doable where there was one or two we wanted to change.

The biggest issue with planning in 90 days is the ADR's. You may not get the places you want to dine. If that is not a critical element to your trip, then you won't have any issue planning in 90 days.

I would imagine you have looked at the "logistics" - can you pay for it, can you get plane tickets if needed, is there a room at the place you want, and can you get time off from work?

If you have ever been to Disney before, you already know the lay of the land and you know what you like to do so just go for it! Sometimes a spontaneity trip can be more fun then an over planned one!

I would say go for it!!!!!! :sohappy:

In 2010 I planned a trip in 45 days. 8 days 7 nights the week after Easter week. We got really cheap airfare ($142 round trip per person), Southwest sometimes lowers rates if you check daily. We got to eat everywhere we wanted. We might of had to do breakfast around 9 instead of 7:30, but oh well. Also, when I did this I was completely new to Disney and haven't even heard of this site, now planning a trip is easy. It can definitly be done and if you know what your doing and people on this site are a huge help.

Good Luck and I hope you enjoy your trip!!!

One other thing I would add......have the dining reservation number handy. Reservations do open up for certain places the day of, so if you don't get your ADR in advance there might still be hope. We got a dinner ADR for Chef Mickeys earlier that afternoon. As long as your flexible it will always be ejoyable.

It's definitely doable! We planned a long weekend to Disney in less then a month!

Only thing you will miss out on is any discount Disney offers during your stay and you might run into some issues with booking dining reservations.

Sometimes (not all the time but sometimes) you can still get ADR's at even the most popular places around 30 days out. We arrive at the world 36 days from today and yesterday I was looking at switching our lunch ADr at Le Cellier to a different time but wasn't holding my breath for anything to be open. Every single day the week we are there has openings for lunch and not just one time, but multiple times. I was shocked to see that, considering we're so close to the travel dates. So sometimes, you can get lucky with ADR's!

I signed up for email alerts last week from the Airfare Watchdog site so I could keep an eye out for cheap flights into Orlando and I've been pretty impressed with the prices they've been sending me. I would def. recommend checking it out. Also, when I was at Disney a few years ago, we were able to make same-day reservations from our hotel room first thing in the morning - we just called them up and asked what was available. You might not get your first choice, but it's better than nothing.
