Original Poster
Hey folks!

It's been a very long time since I've posted around these parts, so if this message is in the wrong section I apologize in advance. I'm writing because for years I remember seeing this beautiful poster in Epcot near Spaceship Earth, and it always caught my eye. Do any of you kind people know where I might be able to find it? I'd be eternally grateful... :)

Here's the poster: http://tinyurl.com/2blwgk

Thanks!

IF IF IF you'd ever find anything like that, it's going to be on Ebay. I'd love to have that poster as well. But don't hold your breath for finding it.

This was talked about a while back; I made a large size JPEG of it - my photoalbum is playing up so PM me your email for a larger copy of this one from SSEs entrance

Hello, long time lurker here.

Just to let you know, I've seen that poster on eBay a couple of times from the same seller (who I just looked up from the auction I won, and he's no longer on eBay). The bidding does get a little hectic for it.

I've never seen that as a poster, but I know they at one time they had a shirt with that design. My mom bought one when she and my dad were in WDW for their Honeymoon (Early 80s) - and now it's my favorite shirt. Gorgeous dark blue shirt with that design on the front.

Good luck finding the poster, though.

I was lucky enough to find an original of this poster on ebay last year. Mine says "The future begins Oct. 1, 1982." It's not a very large poster but is very impressive. Keep checking ebay. I'm sure there are more out there.

Beware folks.

All the posters you see on eBay from the same seller, almost one every week?

They're reproductions. Though the seller declines to mention that. He purchased an original one then made a bunch of copies; that's his stock in trade, buying vintage posters, reproducing them, and selling them off *without* mentioning they're merely copies. So yeah, if you buy them, you'll get the basic design, but they will not have been printed by "Walt Disney Productions" in the year circa 1983. :(

I have a poster with that image. It says "THE NEWEST WONDER OF THE WORLD" in the top left, and in the lower left has the EPCOT center logo, "Walt Disney World" (with the mouse ears in the "D"), and "EPCOT CENTER". Picked it up at a Disneyana Convention in Orlando years ago. I believe it to be authentic, but even if it's not, I'm still not parting with it :animwink:

Gatordoc's should be legit.

Perhaps not every week right now, but starting last summer, and continuing up through at least this past May, there seemed to be at least one copy for sale every week. Post #7: "who I just looked up from the auction I won, and he's no longer on eBay"... Perhaps eBay noticed the violation (and it is a violation selling unauthorized copies without mentioning that they are in fact copies) and kicked him off. He's had at least two different user ID names that I know of. Either he was kicked off, or he got a new name and is hiding behind that one. True, I personally have not seen the poster on eBay recently, but this Spring, and this past Winter and this past Fall and this past Summer? He had a fake up for sale every week.

I've recognized that guy who sells copies, so I can answer when the "real" poster is on eBay. That poster is on there about every 2 months or so, but every time I try to bid it goes towards $20 and I hate to spend that much on a poster.

I was able to get one that says "The 21st Century Begins October 1, 1982." Even if it is a copy, it looks legit enough for me and I love it all the same. I just need to find some space on the wall for it. :)

That's exactly what mine says now that I think of it. We have the original poster. There are other posters with the same image but a different slogan (can't remember what it was) that came out later.

Check Cafepress.com....search on Epcot. Lots of new shirts with the logo showing up thanks to the fans putting together the 'unofficial' anniverary celebration. Not sure what else is up there.

Disney should knowledge and do a series of serigraphs with classic EPCOT posters and images. Would be nice to have a series of Classic attractions and other Like logos.
