We are cruising with the inlaws. They are meeting us in WDW the day before the cruise because we are spending the week prior there. They are driving and we are using DCL transfers. Can we meet in the terminal and board together? Since this is all of our first Disney cruise I want to hear them say Welcome to the ____ Family and us all be together.

Thanks! They are planning to leave at the same time we do, but I guess we won't know if we are the first stop or the last right?
I can't wait!

As far as I know, there's no rule that says you HAVE to board when your number is called. So if you're there a little earlier and your boarding number is called, you can just wait until the rest of your party arrives and is ready to board. Then you can all board together.

I don't know how they do things in PC, but in Galveston I am not boarding numbers mean much. When our number was called we headed over to board, but if I recall there wasn't anyone who was interested to know if the boarding number called was the one we had. Guess its a honor system thing.

At Port Canaveral it's checked. We had boarding group 3. All the seating was already full so be stood close (& off to the side) of the entry point. I was within feet of the CM who checked boarding group #'s and admitted people to the gangway entry. I watched him turn away 1 family because they weren't in boarding group 2. He also turned 1 lady away because the rest of her family wasn't with her. They needed to board together. She was only gone a few minutes before they all returned and were admitted.

I thought Galveston overall was much more chaotic in the terminal. It felt smaller, that's for sure. We didn't do the boarding group numbers, tho, because we were concierge and got priority boarding. I cannot even imagine all those people trying to board in an orderly fashion. Maybe the CMs felt outnumbered so they gave up rather than risk mutiny. LOL!

I think we were boarding group 4, so we didn't wait long. It wasn't a free for all that day, but they also didn't seem to check anything.

The joys of a big metal industrial building with Mickey Mouse pictures slapped on the wall for the day. ;) I love being able to cruise out of Galveston, but it really is a ....hole when compared to PC or even the cruise terminal in Houston that just sits there empty.

That is a shame about the Houston cruise terminal. It's so pretty!!! Yeah, Tracey was almost offended by Terminal 2 in Galveston. And he says I'm the princess! Ha!
