oh this is gonna be good. How has the value increased?Lack of perceived value.

are you saying they haven't cut staff or raised prices?Facts just don't matter to you do they?
Have a nice day, I really see no point is continuing to debate with you, your mind was made up before the thread was even opened.
Lack of perceived value.
Luckily, I can already rebut your theory! Behold!
Indisputable!
And no offense to you but we are talking about WDW on this thread, and the link I provided showed that WDW itself had record level of guests last quarter. Not sure how much clear it can get than that regarding the performance of the parks in Orlando. And one step more we are talking about the value of WDW today, I would think record guest levels says something about the value a record number of guest think WDW holds for them. Wouldn't you?
We have record number of guest, very large revenue gains, increased guest speeding at the parks, a booming stock price and a board of directors who have the complete support of the people who have huge amounts of their personal money tied into the Disney parks. All of this documented, so yeah I am pretty pro Disney about that
And to top it off the offer I had in for 50 DVC points did not pass the right of first refusal at Disney yesterday. They bought the points themselves so I am guessing the DVC side of the business at WDW is doing pretty well right now too
And read the link I provided the parks overall are booming
"Profits at the company’s U.S. and overseas theme parks and resorts rose a strong 17 percent, to $2.2 billion. More visitors came to parks in Anaheim and Florida, spent more money and stayed in hotels more nights"
It's not only the movie division driving the profits...
Also; you keep repeating "we're talking about WDW only", yet your figures and quotes mention ALL PARKS including even OVERSEAS ones..So what is your point? How does this benefit me or the perceived Value?"Profits at the company’s U.S. and overseas theme parks and resorts rose a strong 17 percent, to $2.2 billion. More visitors came to parks in Anaheim and Florida, spent more money and stayed in hotels more nights"
Facts just don't matter to you do they?

I see lots of people who could benefit from a course in macroeconomics. Or a refresher if they have already taken one in the past. Very simply, supply and demand is what it is and the numbers speak volumes over feelings. Bottom line, if you are unhappy with your view of Disney, don't go.
You're still missing the point big time. but whatever..
Lets try again; yo keep saying "VALUE".
To which I ask: Value for who? the stock owners? Disney executives ? Year pass owners? club owners? DVC owners? florida visitors? local US nationwide visitors or worldwide visitors?
According to your "Value"... how do I get the "value" you keep mentioning?
do I need to visit certain days? do I need to be a DVC client? do I need to stay in or out of Disney hotels?
do I need to skip or buy the dinner packages? do I need to BUY DISNEY STOCK?
As a visitor I would want to have the best service for the least amount of money.
Many people have talked about the decaying of service and rise of prices when compared to the old Disney.
As for me... I refused to go to places that had more than 30 minutes of wait time, and at MK and Epcot there were MANY (if not the majority of the attractions) with higher than 30 minutes.. despite being told it was "one of the slowest weeks".
I cant compare to the old times.. I had a good time at WDW but I was unable to see all the things I wanted to see.
is WDW worth it? for now yes, but with the big discounts I got. I dont think I could afford/be worth if there wasn't discounts. and I would be VERY WARY of going if the quality decreases in the future.
I would say I was lucky, as my magicbands worked fine.. I did had great food (except in the quick service ones I tried...which were mediocre), had no big problems in transportation.. room quality was ok at POR and the hotel itself was beautiful and well maintained from outside.
Other people weren't so lucky(by just searching the forum), complaining about horrible services on food or rooms falling apart.
A for profits, you keep saying about "We have record number of guest, very large revenue gains, increased guest speeding at the parks, a booming stock price"
Are you again going with "WE" as an employee? a stock holder? or a lifestyler dependant of WDW?
how does "having record money" or "we're squishing as much as we can from WDW" have anything to do with "Value" ?
Again.. you seem in the last pages to focus solely in the "value" FOR owners, stock owners and general people who benefits from the health of WDW and not the visitors per se.
also, your quote:
Also; you keep repeating "we're talking about WDW only", yet your figures and quotes mention ALL PARKS including even OVERSEAS ones..So what is your point? How does this benefit me or the perceived Value?
As for DVC, Weren't there many reports on how they're transforming most of the capacity of the top tier hotels into DVC because these hotel rooms are EMPTY and UNUSED due of their ridiculous price levels? I cant say much about DVC because I never stayed there and only imagined in buying points to lower prices if I wanted to visit WDW again to lower my costs.
And the last part about "record" attendees.. Was there even a decline in ANY of the major parks of Florida? (that was not caused by the depression of course). I only read about the SeaWorld (but that seems more due of the supposed boycott regarding the abuse against orcas).
Is WDW only getting "record" attendees? Only the Parks? Or the entire WDW sector (including hotels? and not counting third party hotels)
As someone who is middleware in this talk... and trying to get the best service for his bucks... I honestly Cant take both extreme sides seriously...
One side complains silly about the money expend in a project that might have been critically needed.. the other just boasts about the value of disney stock and the money they make (even if it does nothing nor help the normal visitor in any way).
Value for a visitor will NEVER BE about how much money WDW makes or how much profit they make.
The VALUE for a visitor is the SERVICE and PRODUCTS they receive in exchange to the money they pay.
I hope I am clear now cause its been a wild ride from one extreme to the other...
Why it seems that you refuse any information that might affect Disney WDW division?
Market Share is down, but for you is "not a fact". You're being way too overpicky in your defence of disney atm.
PS, I do not hate Disney.. I just want to have the best value for the top money I'm expending.. I'm soon in my way to try a DCL cruise that was recommended by a lot of people and I have high expectations due of photos, comments..etc.. I hope I get a good trip.
I will definitively plan a lot but I hardly think I will sleep much. I really want to go madman with my camera and try to see as much as I can..You will have a great cruise, DCL is top notch, they run a heck of a ship. Plan to eat a lot and sleep a lot, a full belly and a rocking ship will lull you to sleep

I want to squeeze as much I can.
Speaking of worrying.. my only worry right now is getting my Canadian Visa.. their site always strongly recommends "unlike the US visa system, We recommend you to reserve, arrange and set your visit/travel/hotel before requesting the VISA". Its been almost 2 months and nothing from the VISA guys.. still in "received papers" status.
I never had applied to the Canadian Visa before so no idea how the process is or how long it is.. (my US visa process was very quick.. id say almost instant)
I did sent a few emails, but they always get me the same repeated information that is on their site.. and only affects Americans or Canadian visitors. We sailed to the Caribbean so I am unsure of the Canadian issue but I sure would like to find out A cruise there would be awesome, and Quebec is on my short list of places to visit. I would use Disney CL as a resource and call them. I would guess they deal with that very issue a lot with their guest. I am sure they could help you out.
All I can say is do not open the veranda door in your cabin as you are sailing and "just lay down for a second" on the couch in there, it will be lights outs.
Man I really want to go on a cruise about right now.....

Then they sent you the way of "your local embassy" for "better information" :|
Cant call .. I'm deaf D:
Ya. I live in Memphis too. Germantown to be exact and you can imagine the cost of living in this town is ridiculous. The sad part about that is that here in Memphis, where the CoL and all is lower than the national average, you'll pay that same high price for McD's.

I actually have been talking to tammy, aka @DisneyfalconI would guess the embassy would be no help either
Have you tried posting on the DCL sub forum on here?
She is very very well versed in DCL

I would guess she could help you on this matter
