Can this even be considered a rumor?

I love pixar films, I really do, but for the love of god NO!

We have a "land" in Hollywood Studios that is begging for expansion, keep the pixar properties THERE. I'd move Laugh Floor and a Cars ride over there.

there are "rumored" pavilions to be getting refurbishments after test track is done. the main concern of course is budget.

Lee, cmon, don't question this guy. His name is InsiderImagine and he just joined. Obviously he works for Disney (Insider) and is somehow connected to the Imagination Pavilion (Imagine) and this is breaking news, which is why he had to join and share the news.

Sheesh, some people... :)

Truthfully, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney re-theming Test Track to Cars. I don't want to be negative on this or anything, but I really wouldn't like to see them do this. Though Cars Land's Radiator Springs Racers is the same same ride system and all, if they brought this to WDW, it would not fit the theme of Epcot at all. And dedicating a Future World pavilion to Cars? Hmmm....

I'm one of those who really doesn't mind The Seas with Nemo and Friends(even if it "ruins the classic pavilion", as I've heard many say). Bringing more current Disney/Pixar characters to classic attractions isn't always a bad thing. For Nemo and Friends pavilion, I don't mind it(even thought the OmniMover ride isn't all that great). But for Cars to come to Test Track, I'm wouldn't be a fan of that.

What he said. :)

With the exception of a Cars overlay (or any other character/movie tie-in) any changes that Test Track receives would be greatly welcomed. After 12+ years, the ride desperately needs an update.

I have an idea...unless there's a SHRED of evidence of this turning into a CARS attraction, let's just drop that. I'm thinking there's a 99% chance of that NOT happening.

Agreed! No need for it and it doesn't fit thematically in EPCOT. We don't need another ride in EPCOT screaming "I'm based on a movie, so go out and buy copies of the DVD!" A Cars overlay at Test Track would give me just one more reason to spend less time (and therefore money) in the parks.

Other than riding once on my first trip following the Nemo overlay at the Living Seas, I haven't set foot in the Seas building, and I won't again until the Nemo theming is gone (I know I have a LONG time to wait). Removing that one ride from my schedule has cost Disney money that I would have otherwise spent in the park...not that it makes a difference to them. Cars at Test Track make me do the same thing...and cause me avoid seeing Cars 2 and buying Cars merchandise in the future.

I'll agree with you that Cars doesn't really seem to fit TT or FW at this point, and it looks like we don't need to worry about that according to our insiders.

I have read plenty of posts similar to yours regarding Nemo and The Seas, and I respect your opinion. However, it's hard to say that your not going in there is "costing Disney money" as the Nemo overlay has increased attendance at the pavilion (and probably souvenir spending) significantly. Most agree that whether you like it or not, Nemo likely saved The Seas in the end, especially given that sponsor-less pavilions tend to not last very long.

I agree wholeheartedly that TT is probably the most overrated attraction in all of WDW. It's great the first time, and then just so-so after that. Perhaps an interactive element will help that.

To me the whole cars overlay rumor is stupid. Not stupid that it's a rumor but stupid for them to actually think of doing. I wouldn't mind seeing TT get some upgrades or whatever, someone even mentioned a retheming. The different between TT now and the living seas then is that TT is not a struggling attraction. It's one of the it rides of Epcot, whether it's overrated or not.
