We've never been there before and don't know at all what to expect. Is it extra $? What does one do there? Is it just a bunch of booths with different food and wine?

Heading for the great escape.
Theres a festival that lets you buy food and wine, its at Epcot and has an international flavour.

I believe it was started to make drinking round world showcase more of a challenge.

It's a wonderful opportuntiy to sample some different types of cuisine and beverages from all over the world.
What's great is that there are Kiosks from countries not normally represented at Epcot. And what they sell are small sample sizes so you don't overdue it(if you don't want to).
I absoultely love going to Epcot during that time.

It is a lot of fun, although prices do add up. They basically set up a lot of temporary booths around the World Showcase for a lot of different countries. Each booth has small samples of food and beverages tied to that country that you can buy. Basically, it is a great opportunity to try a lot of food from different cultures.

They also have extra entertainment going on at the same time.

I went to the Food & Wine Fest for my honeymoon in Oct of last year and I loved it, it was better than I imagined. We spent every single night walking around trying new wines and new foods. Food and wine samples averaged about $3.50. There were nightly concerts across from American Adventure by various artists of the 80s and 70s. Great time to go.

I'm excited that I'm going to be there this year for it.

It's wonderful in many ways... but the best... you can get the Canadian cheddar soup without having to book six months in advance!

What is great too, is that if you are on the DP you can use your snack credits when buying the various samples. We had the ribs, lamb and forgot the name but it was a delish chicken at S Africa, I believe. You will have a great time. :slurp:
