It gets so old reading these posts about people bashing DVC in the DVC thread. Granted its not for everyone, but my family and thousands other feel they get every penny worth. So just deal with it, if your not into DVC then fine but dont post in here bashing it. Move on with your life and enjoy Disney the way you like to plan and spend your money on our trips as us DVC owners do.

You never see a DVC owner bashing rack rate payers, we get that its not for everyone, and so be it. Thats the bad thing about forums, there is tons of info and then you always have a few that like to flex their internet muscles.

DVC Mike I thank you for the long and informative posts I am sure many that ready it either learned something or just reaffirmed what they thought. To the other regulars Slappy Magoo and some others that I can't remember their names remember there are a ton of people that gain from your posts.

Actually there are quite a few that get up in arms when Disney has promotions such as free dining that they can not get in on using DVC points. Personally I wish both camps (DVC haters and DVC owners wanting promotions) would put a sock in it. I do agree with your point though. DVC works for some and does not work for others but once you figure out which way works best for you and comit to it bashing the alternative is really pointless.

The sad thing is I am not surprised in the least that this simple yes or no question could boil over into a full grown argument.

To the OP..... Yes you can rent DVC rooms just like you rent other rooms on property, they are even included in some of the discount promotions. You can also rent points from other DVC members to use toward stays at a DVC resort. In many cases renting points from a DVC member is much less expensive that going directly through Disney and paying cash but it does require a certain bit of trust between you and the DVC member.

No, DVC doesnt make me feel special....my family does. But thanks anyway.

DVCMIKE....I dont really care enough to read all that, I have a life and NO INTEREST in DVC....but thanks anyway, maybe it will be useful to someone else. :)

To the original poster...yes, you can rent them, have a wonderful trip with your family. But let me just say, sometimes multiple rooms with connecting doors works out better because you get more bathrooms, thats IF you dont want the kitchen....or you can rent the All Star family suites that have the kitchenettes which are also very nice, we have stayed in those too and are more economical if price is an issue.

You do know though that you are renting at a much higher cost to cover the costs of the DVC member who is using points outside of DVC.

I much prefer having already paid for my DVC and using it at what works out to be economical to me.

never mind. Maybe when my kids get older and move out. See you in 20 years :)
They are not cheap by any means. One option you can look at is renting DVC points from a DVC member. From my understanding you can get the DVC rooms for considerably less by doing so.
